Antiques and collectibles can be found at The Very Thing, located in Lewisburg, West Virginia, just off the I64 exit.
The Very Thing offers a wonderful opportunity to see many unique and diverse selections of items. Stop by and browse the 75 vendor booths, with a wide range of goods including antiques, books, collectibles, vintage clothing, furniture, Greenbrier Hotel items, and gifts.
I've shopped at The Very Thing for myself and for my family. My biggest purchase was 12 place settings of the Greenbrier dishes, as well as the Greenbrier china that has the letter "G" monogrammed on each piece. Why buy china with a monogrammed "G"... my last name is Gaujot....I thought the dishes would work great...and I might add the china makes a beautiful table. Never thought I would have monogrammed china ....and at such a great price.
Janet Neathawk, sole proprietor, opened The Very Thing in October 2005, and it has been a huge success. Patrons are always looking or just browsing ... as one never knows what you might find at The Very Thing.
I try to stop in and browse a couple of times a month.....come join me.... there are finds of all kinds at The Very Thing.
Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 am - 6 pm. Sunday 12 noon - 6 pm.

Greenbrier Pines Subdivision, Lewisburg, WV
In 2004, my husband and I were in West Virginia attending my nephews wedding. Afterward, he suggested we drive to Lewisburg and checkout the area for a possible retirement area. Well, I fell in love with this quaint historical town. We found land for sale in the Greenbrier Pines Subdivision, about a mile from the town of Lewisburg. We purchased two lots and built our retirement home.
Greenbrier Pines is a superb residential neighborhood and one of Lewisburg's finest subdivisions. Greenbrier Pines is situated on 50 acres, and within the city limits of Lewisburg. One of the things that I liked about this subdivision is the underground utilities. Homeowner's association dues are $100. Elementary school is less than a mile.
Plus, the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Greenbrier Pines is a great place to walk. You usually see the neighbors out walking, some with their dogs, children or both.

There are a few lots available for building your own dream house, and some houses for sale.

Lewisburg is a 221-year-old town with many 18th and 19th-century buildings, where the steeple clock still tolls the hour and the church bells ring out on Sunday mornings. Lewisburg is nestled in the heart of the Greenbrier Valley, and is the county seat. In 1978, a 236-acre area in the heart of Lewisburg was designated a National Register Historic District.
National Geographic Magazine has ranked Lewisburg among the best 75 small towns to visit in America. Inns, shops, cafes, and restaurants open onto its short streets. The galleries and theaters are busy year-round. Check out some of the great restaurants in the Lewisburg area, as well as specialty shops.
If you are a golfer...you will love the Lewisburg Elks Country Club. The Club is less than four miles from the Greenbrier Pines Subdivision.
The Lewisburg Elks Country Club, located ½ mile north of Interstate 64 on US Route 219, is enjoyed by everyone who plays here. Enjoy the eighteen distinctive and unique holes that meander over rolling countryside, or relax on the porch of the Clubhouse, Lodge and Restaurant, a majestic building that is reminiscent of the facility at The Masters.
Blackwell's Restaurant is located in the Lewisburg Elks Country Club. The food is delicious, service is fast, and has a great ambience with wonderful views of the golf course.
More golfing is just ten miles away at the famous award-winning Greenbrier Resort. This renowned property offers 721 rooms, including exquisite guest and estate houses and more than 50 recreational activities including three championship golf courses, indoor and outdoor tennis courts a 40,000-square-foot spa and more.
There is a wide array of outdoor adventures to enjoy in Lewisburg and the Greenbrier County.........hiking, biking, camping, caving, canoeing, fishing and even cross-country skiing!
Leave the hurry of the city behind without leaving the advantages it has to offer. Enjoy the tranquility of this exclusive community located inside Lewisburg city limits....approximately one mile from the historic downtown area.
