Passive Solar Home w/ Green Features

I recently listed a passive solar home with many green features. This house is so cool. It has recycled 8x3 foot solid hard wood doors. The house has a steel frame. This is a basement home but what makes it so unusual is the second floor is concrete with recycled glass pressed into the concrete. This gives it texture and it sparkles when the sun reflects off of it, but most importantly it will actually be warm when the sun hits it in the winter time. Another cool feature is the solid surface window sills. They are low maintence, recycled material, you don't have to worry about it rotting. This home is 149,900, 3 bedrooms and 2 baths with a finished basement. it offers about 1800-2000 square feet.

Giving back to the Community

Recently I volunteered at a Habitat for Humanity build. It was alot of work but very rewarding. My arm was sore the next day from all the nails I hammered. It was great working side by side with the new home owner to be. She was so proud of her new home. It made me think of why I am in this business. It seems as though are jobs have gotten harder recently, but I am reminded of what makes me keep doing this. The rewards out weigh all of the stress that can be involved.

Short Sales are becoming common place

What is a short sale? A "short sale" occurs when a negotiation is entered into with the property owner's mortgage company to accept less than the full balance of the loan at closing. A short sale is the preferred solution for many home owners facing foreclosure. A foreclosure can have a huge impact on a person's credit score, credit history, and job status. In order to qualify for a short sale, a home owner must be able to show, financial hardship, negative cash flow where monthly expenses exceed monthly income, or evidence of pending loss and insolvency.

Why Greenville SC is thriving in a down market.

Recently 2 main streets were looked at and interviewed by Good Morning America. One was Rockford Illinois and the other Greenville SC. Rockford"s main street is losing business and closing up shops because it is mainly an automotive town. On the other hand Greenville which was once a textile community has diversified and attracted many businesses. BMW. GE, Michelin, Fluor, I-Car just to name a few. In the last 5 years the downtown has transformed with many restaraunts and businesses. Along side a beautiful park with gardens, waterfalls, the reedy river, and many art galleries. Greenville SC was voted the #5 place in the country to ride out the economic crisis by Forbes magazine.
