We just saw the movie, Julie and Julia, and if you are any kind of blogger, you mus see this film. Apart from the fact that we simply enjoyed it, it spoke alot about posting blogs. I guess alot of what we write is probably just filling space, but I guess there are alot of people doing serious writing out there. The heroine of the movie Julie is an un-fulfilled writer, and is living in a vacuum. She loves cooking and food, and decides that she will start a major project; she will cook every recipe in "Mastering the Art of French Cooking", by Julia Child. She commits to cooking over 500 recipes in 365 days, and she will blog about it on a daily basis. she starts of continuing to work in an environment where nobody notices her wrting, but gradually that changes. She starts to get "comments", something we all love getting on our posts.
Oh well, just see the movie and you will be glad you put yourselves out there on the web. Maybe we need a project to blog about, not just random ideas.
We're going to start thinking about a theme to our blogs.
Enjoy
Today I read an article in the paper, that the FHA might implode. Ouch. I have come to the conclusion that there is an "all cash" market, an FHA market, and then a whole lot of nothing.
I had a conversation with a fellow agent about a year ago, and we both came to the same realization: if people have more money invested in their car than their home, it seems to be a prescription for disaster.
We both figured that a year or two down the line, alot of these FHA borrowers were going to walk away from the houses. It is starting to happen now, according to the article in the Contra Costa Times.
I hope this isn't the end of the line for a housing market that is just starting to show signs of life, after lying dormant in the dirt for a couple of years.
I repeat: OUCH.
Dear Senator Feinstein,
I have voted Democreat for at least 30 years, and I have never been so dissapointed in my party. I believe i was personally responsible for turning at least 10 Republicans into, at least temporary Democrats. I argued long and hard about the state of Health care in this country, and I was able to convince alot of people that as Americans, we have a common enemy: the insurance companies. These companies do nothing for us, they only siphon off dollars. Even the conservatives I spoke to, had to reluctantly agree.
This was our golden opportunity to eliminate the companies, or at least, give people an opt-out. How can you let this slip out of our hands?
It is with sadness that I came to realize that statesmanship is truly dead, and that profit comes before justice in Washington. I hold all of my Democrats responsible.
Shame on You All,
Michael Gerry
