Meet me half way

An Antartian named Babbette finds herself in dire trouble. Her business has gone bust and she's in serious financial trouble. She's so desperate that she decides to ask God for help. She begins to pray... "God, please help me. I've lost my business and if I don't get some money, I'm going to lose my house as well. Please let me win the lotto."

Lotto night comes and somebody else wins it. Babbette again prays..."God, please let me win the lotto! I've lost my business, my house and I'm going to lose my car as well."

Lotto night comes and Babbette still has no luck.

Once again, she prays..."My God, why have you forsaken me?? I've lost my business, my house and my car. My children are starving. I don't often ask you for help and I have always been a good servant to you. PLEASE just let me win the lotto this one time so I can get my life back in order."

Suddenly there is a blinding flash of light as the heavens open and Babbette is confronted by the voice of God Himself: "Babbette, meet Me halfway on this. Buy a ticket."

This is very funny, but it also reminds me that our actions have to reflect our prayers.

Towne Lake in Cypress Texas will start selling some of their commercial lots

Caldwell Companies announced new ground-breaking real estate opportunities in the award-winning Towne Lake community's residential and commercial sections.

Available for sale in the master-planned Towne Lake community in northwest Houston are seven prime land sites ranging in size from one to 25 acres.

Caldwell Companies' Keith P. Grothaus, CCIM, SIOR, said the timing was right to put these commercial oriented properties on the market. He said Towne Lake has the infrastructure and utilities in place to support new commercial development. "We believe Towne Lake has grown to a size where we think it is a good time to expand the offerings we have for our residents and the surrounding community," Grothaus said.

He said there are five (pad) sites in the one- to two-acre range that are ideal for retail, restaurant, hotel, and/or professional businesses. All five pad sites front Barker-Cypress Road and are located south of Tuckerton Road - the community's "Main Street."

A 12-acre site for sale on the corner of Barker Cypress and Tuckerton Road would be a prime spot for a community church, Grothaus said, and a 25-acre site at the corner of West and Greenhouse roads would be ideal for many uses. The developers are willing to subdivide the 25 acre tract for a use that "fits" the overall community character. We are looking for uses that will fill the needs of our community.

Starting in May, 40 residential lots - 20 on Towne Lake's centerpiece lake - will be available for custom homes in a new section of the Heritage Towne Lake's active adult community, said Peter Barnhart, Caldwell Companies' Vice President of Development. Homes in the gated enclave will start in the high 300,000's and will have access to a private marina.

In the larger Towne Lake community a new gated section of 35 custom lots - 15 water front properties included - will be available in October. This new section will also feature a private marina and will be located adjacent to the Heritage's gated community off Hamilton Hills Drive.

Also in the fall, a third section of new homes will break ground near Cy-Fair ISD's Rennell Elementary School, which is under construction on Tuckerton Road. Homes will start in the low $200,000s and will be constructed on 60-foot lots. Builders will be selected from a list of Houston's best and will be announced soon, Barnhart said.

"In an effort to help Towne Lake grow quickly, we continue to add new and exciting products to our housing mix," Barnhart said. The company is scheduled to open the new main entrance of Tuckerton Road in the later part of 2010. This new entry at Barker Cypress will be a major milestone for Towne Lake by providing much quicker access to Hwy 290 and area amenities. Rennell Elementary School will open in August.

Towne Lake in Cypress Texas wins Best Community

Best community, best event... Best place to live!

Towne Lake wins "Houston's Best" honors from
builders association.

Residents of Towne Lake already know that it's a great place to live. Now it seems the rest of the city is learning, too!

For example, the Greater Houston Builders Association recently named Towne Lake the "Best Community in Houston" in the under-2,500 acres category.

"We're thrilled that the GHBA recognizes the care and effort that went into making Towne Lake a one-of-a-kind, Hill Country-styled community connected by water," says Randy Young, director of operations and land development for Caldwell Companies, Towne Lake's developer. "But the real winners are the residents of Towne Lake!"

The GHBA also awarded Towne Lake the "Best Event/Promotion by a Developer" honor for its 2009 Mothers Day Concert. More than 1,000 people attended the event, which featured great food and refreshments, activities for kids and a KSBJ Special Events performance by contemporary Christian artists Jimmy Needham, Denver and the Mile High Orchestra, Chris and Conrad.
