When I started in this Industry in the middle eighties I had a very renowned real estate coach remind me on a daily basis that this was a numbers game. Call, Call, call some more, write offers, and take listings. I did that for years and delegated everything else. I always loved the people, and yet I had to maintain it was all a numbers game. I so enjoyed working with people, and I really had more fun directly than cold calling all day.
All those smiling faces, and all the humor and fun. Things have changed, and some of those same smiling faces are shedding tears. They have family, children, pets, and a history in their wonderful home. How sad it is to see and hear the pain that these people are going through. The fact that they call me and are deeply saddened by things that for the most part out of their control leaves me speechless at times. The other night I received a call from a Seller that was frantic. It actually stopped me in my tracks; all I could do was listen. It's not just a numbers game, and it was not that awfully long ago that I changed coaches. This is as real as it gets, very real. People are hurting, and some are very devastated with their lives having fallen apart. I was always there for them when it was better times, and I will certainly be there for them in these times of uncertainty.
The opportunity that exists in purchasing a home in today's market is phenominal. The rates, the prices, and the selection are superb. Just today had a referral to place in the state of Washington for a seller looking to relocated to Wisconsin. It was up less than 5 minutes and I received my first call. Had 3 calls within 10 minutes. Checked the "referral board" and there were 10 contacts about the listing referral. One of the "board posts" was one of the three that called.
