Hey, I just learned a nifty new trick and shortcut on Outlook - How to turn an email into a calendar appointment

There are so many times that I get an email that is along the lines of some kind of appointment. For example, I received an email this morning from my coach saying he is going to be doing a free teleconference tomorrow at 4:00. And it had all the details in the body of the email, with time, date, conference call phone number and Webinar code.

Normally I would have to copy/paste, copy/past again, and again, and again, etc. in order to make a new appointment and get all the info in on my Outlook calendar.

Well, I was just sort of horsing around and tried something that worked brilliantly.

In preview mode in my emails, I just clicked and held down the email message, then while still holding down the mouse I dragged it on top of the Calendar section to open up that part of Outlook (still holding down the mouse), then once my calendars appeared up at the top left, I dragged the email up to my calendar and let go.

It then opened up a new appointment in my calender with all the details from my email attached in the body of the calendar appointment!!

I then just clicked and pulled down the date and time to set that, and voila!

I created a screenshot below to illustrate.

Way cool, huh?

Hey, I'm just sayin', ya know?................

All the animal lovers out there, asking a very small favor of you................

There is a Seattle based animal rescue site that is in need of our help. It doesn't involve a donation, just the one thing that I know you Active Rainers are very good at - snooping the internet.

The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily so they can meet their quota of getting FREE FOOD donated every day to abused and neglected animals.

It takes about 30 seconds to go to their site and click on the purple box 'fund food for animals for free'. This doesn't cost you a thing.

Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.

I did this myself, and thoroughly examined the site and background information of the organization prior to posting this blog.

Here's the web site!

www.theanimalrescuesite.com

Please pass it along to people you know.

With our numbers, if we make an effort, the Active Rain community as well as visitors to my dedicated blog site can make a real difference.

Thank you for your time with this,

The Ralphster

AB 957: What is going to be the real difference in "prohibiting" banks from requiring their escrow and title?

So Bill AB 957 was recently passed that prohibits a bank seller to require the buyer to purchase escrow services, title services or a natural hazard disclosure statement that is approved by them.

So I'm trying to think this one through.

Sure, they can't outwardly "mandate" that they choose their escrow, title and hazard disclosure companies.

But isn't kind of like the same issue with normal sales?

We all know that when you're in a multiple offer situation, it's fairly common to write in "seller's choice" on these services in order to make your offer more competitive/attractive to the seller.

Depending on the circumstances and whether or not it is a multiple offer situation, is the bank/seller still not going to choose an offer that is more attractive to them based on all elements of the offer?

So what is the real difference here?

Am I missing something?

How to make the world's healthiest pizza for under $5.00

Ingredients:

1 Pkg Whole wheat pizza dough

365 brand Roasted Vegetable pasta sauce (1lb, 9oz jar)

1/2 cup low-fat mozzerella cheese, shredded

2 Tblspn grated parmesan or romano cheese

1/2 cup chopped fresh mushrooms

1/2 cup chopped bell pepper (or red or orange or multi-color)

1/4 cup sliced black olives

1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon dried basil (or 1 teaspoon fresh basil)

If you have a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods nearby, you can purchase pre-made whole wheat pizza dough that's ready to go and not full of junk.

Trader's Joe's has the best price at only $1.79 per package.

Spray a pizza pan or cookie sheet with a non-stick spray or dust with whole wheat flour.

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.

Roll pizza dough onto pan to a very thin height

Placed spread dough on sheet into oven for 10 minutes, then flip and cook an additional 5 minutes (very important - this cooks the crust so that you end up with a crispy crust and you don't end up with mushy, doughy crust after putting the ingredients on)

Use ONLY 1/2 jar of 365 brand roasted vegetable pasta sauce and spread evenly over the semi-cooked crust

Spread chopped vegetables over sauce mixture on pizza evenly.

Sprinkle shredded mozzerella cheese over pizza (hint: mozzerella is just for flavor and slight consistenly - using very little prohibits you from making a gooey, messy, pizza that is more authentic without all the greasy fat.)

Sprinkle grated parmesan or romano cheese over pizza

Sprinkly oregano and basil over pizza

Bake completed pizza at 375 degrees for 10 minutes, then place oven on broil setting and broil for 2 MINUTES ONLY to give pizza a nice light browned texture on top.

I'll be featuring this kind of pizza with variations at my vegetarian restaurant that I'll be opening next year.

Enjoy!!

Republicans and Democrats please take notice and learn a little something.

Have a great day, and if it's not, then do whatever it takes to MAKE IT a great day....
