What are builders looking for in a Realtor?

I have always been fascinated in the way that Builders treat REALTORS or should I say - don't treat them. Is it part arrogance on the part of the Builder or the lack of trust that the builders have in REALTORS? I always thought it should be a perfect marriage between the persons who love and specialize in building and the other side that love and specialize in selling. Some where there is a disconnect.

Feel like giving up?

Many REALTORS will probably be leaving the business over the next month. If you are one that is considering it, first ask yourself: have I done everything possible to succeed? SCHEDUALE doing things like: expires, sign calls, calling your sphere, blogging, facebook, linkenin, active rain, sending out letters, emailing, buyer/seller seminars, etc... Sounds like work? YES! This is a job. Work it and reap the benefits. If you sit on your butt and wait for the business, you'll be gone. Good Luck!!

Business Planning

Write your business plan for next year and beyond. How can you run a business without a plan or a system of checklist. Get organized with procedures that will help your business run seemlessly. Set goals: appointments/month, listings/month, phone calls/month, keep track of what you are doing. Good Luck!

Get Organized

The best way to provide customer service is to be organized. This means that you need to put a calender of duties that you do monthly and or yearly. It means that you should create checklists so jobs are done completely and correctly by your staff. Oh, yes I did mention staff. How can you get ahead, be organized unless you have an assistant(s). Get organized = getting better at what you do. Good Luck!

Goal Setting

Realtors have you set your goals for next year? Like any sport you have to set a standard by which you hold yourself accountable to be successful. Set a dollar figure. Next divide that by your sales average and that will determine how many closed transactions you need next year. What percentage will be contributed from the buyer side and what percentage from the selling side? Then simply put into place what you will do to accomplish that goal. How many times/hours/calls per week that you will engage in to reach your goal. Then post it for you to see every day. Good luck
