Fountain Hills Dog Park
Desert Vista Dog Park in Fountain Hills.
The Fountain Hills Dog Park which is actually named The Desert Vista Dog Park is just another great example of why Fountain Hills is the greatest place to live in the Valley of the Sun. It's managed and maintained by the town and local volunteers.
It is actually two dog parks. One for the little guys and one for the big boys. It's a great place to meet new people in Fountain Hills even if you don't have a dog. The people there are always willing to share a dog story or two and it's easy to meet folks from all over the country and possibly the world.
I own a Vizsla named Rusty. So if you see a Vizsla at the Fountain Hills Dog Park it's probably me. Say Hi and share a story with me. You'll see all sorts of dogs at the Fountain Hills Dog Park, from Rescued Grey Hounds to Mutts. I love watch those Grey Hounds run. Poor Rusty wishes he could keep up with them.
The Fountain Hills Dog Park is open 7 days a week. Has lots of water, shade and sitting areas and it's grass! Next time your in the Hills, stop by and see Rusty and me at The Fountain Hills Dog Park.

Wildflowers
Mar. 08, 2010 Cave Creek Recreation Area Wildflowers reports:

This past week for wildflowers has not been disappointing here at the park. Color seems to be peeking from underneath bushes and trees when you least expect it.
When coming into the park before you reach the entry station, keep an eye out to the left. There is a wash that is full of chuparosa each year and they are starting to show their beautiful red blooms.
The best color to see is still around the Nature Center right now where the dense clusters of desert bells, poppies, desert marigold and brittlebush are brilliantly glowing in the sunshine.
Along the Go John Trail seems to be the next area to start where the lupines, filaree and poppies are creating some nice picture opportunities but still sporadic to this point. Red maids have been seen along the Go John trail heading east which is always a nice color in the park. The first 2 miles in either direction on the Go John Trail will be our first heavy bloomers.
Along the Overton trail there is the definite purple of desert hyacinth reaching out from the bushes at various points highlighted with Filaree all along the trail.
Some new wildflower additions starting to bloom this week are deer vetch, lupine, hideseed and red maids. We are still keeping an eye on our Go John and Overton Trail intersection where we have the most spectacular displays in moist years but it hasn’t begun yet! Our Ranger led wildflower hikes will be starting on March 6th and will continue until the wildflowers are gone!
Check out our website or call 623-465-0431 for the latest wildflower walks and directions. We’ll see you at the Park!
Live in Fountain Hills
You Can Dig It
Fountain Hills has just released a cute video on their latest community effort to plant a 1,000 trees in the downtown area. The goal to green and shade up The Fountain Hills Park is a great idea. As a resident of Fountain Hills since its conception many of the towering pines and eucalyptus have been lost to our monsoon season.

The Real Estate market continues to improve in Fountain Hills. The biggest change in the market is taking place in the Custom Luxury Home. Though the Custom Luxury Home market was very soft in 2009, our office at Remax Sun Properties has sold multiple Custom Luxury Homes ranging from $900,000 to $2,000,000.
Much like the lower end of the market, the Custom Luxury Home buyer is looking for for value. But unlike the lower end, the Custom Luxury Home buyer is not willing to sacrifice quality, views and location.
