DFW home inspection services are about to change!
There is a new sheriff in town when it comes to a professional DFW Home inspection. Green Scene Home Inspections vows to be the first local DFW home inspection service that offers home energy audits along with their certified professional TREC inspections. Austin and Houston are already requiring that a potential real estate transaction must have an energy audit performed before a title can change hands. It’s a $2500 fine to a Realtor if this service is not performed.
A current DFW home inspection only covers the “condition” of the property. By adding a free basic home energy analysis on the “performance” of a home, buyers can make more educated decisions on what their potential energy bills could be. GSHI also offers several different energy efficient based services. We all know someone that has recently paid $800-$1200 for an electric bill, trying to keep a house cool in this scorching Texas heat. Do you want to be the person that sold them that house?
With all the foreclosures sitting on the market today, many of these homes have been empty for long periods of time, leaving the house to weather the elements of winter and summer with no heating or cooling. This can cause major issues for a potential home buyer. A DFW home inspection is essential! Take the next step and go beyond the typical DFW home inspection and find out what a home’s performance is to avoid future lawsuits and unhappy buyers.
When you buy a car, one of the questions high on your list is how many miles per gallon it gets. We all pay attention to those gas prices, right? Well, why wouldn’t you want to know how much your future energy bills could be? With the economy being in its current state, people are paying extra close attention to their monthly expenses.

A typical DFW home inspection does not focus on performance efficiencies. GSHI has over 150 years of combined experience in the professional real estate industry in residential and commercial fields. Owner Clayton Bailey is a fourth generation real estate professional. He calls himself a modern day “Carbon Cowboy,” helping people reduce their carbon footprint and energy costs in their new home. His job is to provide help before customers are approached by multiple companies in the market trying to sell them equipment or products that they may not need. It is true that in this Texas heat the attic is one of the main areas to focus on. Get the house in proper working order before you make major purchases on HVAC equipment or Radiant Barrier. These items do work, but not unless the house is functioning like it should. GSHI offers a DFW home inspection service that can rival no other DFW home inspection company in the market by inspecting both the “condition” and “performance” of the home – what a true “hybrid” DFW home inspection should be!
Bloom Box clean energy cheap? 2 of 2 Rocking real estate to the wire.
This new product will go public in less than 20 hrs. The Bloom Box was just released as a sneak preview on CBS's 60 Minuets. Getting your electricity wireless. This concept is to replace the existing grid within 10-15 years. There have been $400,00 Million already invested into this project which has been very secretive until now.
Being in the Green home inspections business I take pride in keeping people informed on a ways of life to be more sustainable. The Bloom Box is a Fuel cell electric generator that runs on oxygen and natural gas or several other sustainable fuel sources. The inventor, a former NASA engineer that was on the Mars project, created a way to sustain life on mars. A black box that could produce oxygen. The project went bust, but he knew he had something big. Really big, HUGE!
After several years of research and reversing the original design. The Bloom Box had their first customer Google! Secretly Google installed these units to provide a portion of energy to their corporate offices. Google was among many major companies who have been using this new technology quietly. Ebay, Fed Ex, Walmart lots of other big names.
The inventor wants to make the unit cost less than solar panels or wind turbines. Less than $3,000 make it inexpensive so every one can afford it. Sounds like another great entrepreneur that most Americans love, Henry Ford. It's time for everyone to quit bickering. America needs to pick it's self up off the ground. Make a product by Americans for the rest of the world to have. Clean Energy.

This doesn't mean that we should be more wasteful with energy just because there may be a cleaner and more cost effective way to produce it! We still should be finding solutions to be more sustainable in general.

Bloom Box clean energy cheap?
Being in the Green Home Inspection business. I'm very excited to share with people about the following info. Last night on 60 Minuets. A company released the newest Green Home Energy product a wireless fuel cell for Residential and Commercial electric consumption.
The Bloom Box! THIS IS AMAZING! Here it is. Bloom Energy has partnered with several other major Silicon Valley companies to develop a near carbon free electric producing power plant that looks like a small black box. It is roughly the same size as a Rubik's cube. Two units that would go in your back yard would be enough to power the average American home. The inventor wants to keep the product very inexpensive under $3,000. Making it less expensive than solar panels or wind turbines so that this litttle product will catch on some what quick. Similar to the way we have evolved to cell phones instead of land lines. This technology is already being used by Google and Ebay. It was developed by a NASA employee who was working on a way for sustainable life on Mars. His project was scraped but his dream was not. The inventors son submitted an anonymous bid to name the product "Bloom" He explained to his father. Who humbly tried talking his investors out of the name. "Life will bloom, children will bloom, the environment will bloom, jobs will bloom and isn't that what your working so hard for Dad?"
This one product is not the answer. But hopefully it's a real good start. I try not to preach Green constantly, but it's what's going to save America. This man is another "Henry Ford" type figure, of our time that has a product at a reasonable price that the world needs. He wants something that Americans can manufacture, can use and a clean product that the rest of the world should have. Not the other way around. At least that is my two cents worth as a Green Professional Home Inspector.

Green Home Inspections in Dallas, Texas
The new generation of Green Home Inspections is upon us. The City of Dallas just recently set into action the first of a two phase process for Green Home Building Standards. As of Oct. 1, 2009 the Dallas Green Building Program, administered by the Department of Building Inspectors, is looking to see that the following two ordinances are in place.
First- The proposed Green Home must implement water reduction strategies that include high-efficiency (low-flow) faucets and fixtures on at least four of the following six items:
Lavatory Faucets, Showerheads, Toilets, Dishwashers, Clothes washers, and Drip Irrigation Systems.
Second- Use 15% less energy than the Dallas Energy Conservation Code provisions. Prove compliance using Energy Systems Laboratory software with a resulting HERS (Home Energy Rating System) index of 85 or less, or by installing systems certified by Energy System Laboratory or the EPA’s Energy Star program. A third party Green Home Inspection is needed.
Homes built according to the 2006 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) have a HERS rating of 100. A home that is 15-20 years old would approx be 140-160 HERS rating, just to put it in perspective. If I just lost you, it’s OK - this is where Green gets complicated! Your average homeowner doesn’t understand when and why all the gadgets and gizmos come into play - blower door tests, HVAC seal tests, and let’s not forget about those cool thermal imaging cameras!
What do all these things tell us? Well, these tests have been regulated for NEW Green Home construction. Most people do not know it, but North Texas communities in Allen, Frisco, and Plano have built a large number of green homes. Energy Rated Homes. The problem is that home builders are not building them at the same rate they once were. Now that the general public is being introduced to green, everyone wants to know what can it do for pre-existing homes. The problem is that the majority of the real estate market is made up of homes that are at least 10 years old and older. That’s where I come in!
Green Scene Home Inspections offers a different type of professional home inspection service. A Green Home Inspection Service done by a licensed, certified, professional home inspectors, providing all of the same services you would normally find in a professional home inspector. I’m not saying every home that gets a Green Home Inspection has to have an Energy Audit. Although it would help to find more exact results, especially in older homes! I help my clients make smart, conscious decisions when looking to "green" an existing home. Green Scene Home Inspections helps their clients calculate their potential household carbon emissions.
Calculating your household carbon emissions is part of the Green Home Inspection, done through a series of questions about your personal energy consumption habits. Energy used is money spent! If you can reduce your energy consumption, you can save money... and do your part towards saving the planet! My Green Home Inspection offers a FREE household carbon emissions plan that helps families make more environmentally-conscious decisions. I believe in today’s market that the buyers are watching every penny they spend and tracking where their money goes.
I challenge realtors to provide their clients with green options. It’s always been said that a home is the most important purchase that most people will ever make. It’s also the largest carbon offset decision that can be made. Help your clients understand what their potential carbon footprint could be (based on factors like the age and location of the home) by calling Green Scene Home Inspections to evaluate their prospective new home.
