If you have not heard yet, several States are offering Tax Free Weekends and/or Weeks. If you follow the link to this website "2009 Tax Free Weekend Events" it will tell you if your State is one of the ones participating in this and when.
For some of you it might be to late because your State might have already had it, but for "Connecticut" it begins tomorrow and ends on the August 22nd. for clothing and footwear costing less than $300 per item. Connecticut has also provided a website that further explains what qualifies and what does not "One-Week Sales and Use Tax Exclusion in August for Clothing and Footwear Under $300".
It isn't often that the government lets us off paying taxes on item purchased, so go out and do some shopping. For Connecticut this weekend comes at a particularly good time, because parents are out shopping for school cloths for their kids, and this allows them to save a little money on those items.

Over the next two weeks I will be writing a series of blogs about Mortgage/Loan Programs with Low or No Downpayment Still Available In Connecticut. The series of Blogs will cover Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) Mortgages, USDA Mortgages, VA Mortgages, and FHA Mortgages. I will be concluding the series with two blogs that will cover what a Borrower should do to prepare themselves for the Home Buying Process, and help them determine which Loan is best for you for them.
I decided to write this series Mortgage/Loan Programs with Low or No Downpayment Still Available In Connecticut, because of the number of not only Borrowers , but also Realtors that I talk to on a daily bases, that are surprised that Loan Programs that require little or no downpayment are still available today. This impression seems to come from what they have been hearing and reading about the tightening of Lending Regulations, and reported tightening of money. The fact is that even though Lending Regulations have tightened, making it more difficult for Borrowers to qualify for these Loan Programs, money is still very much available for these Loan Programs for those that qualify for them.
However, Borrowers who plan on purchasing a home with one of these Loan Programs need to know what the loan requirements are so that they can make sure that they will qualify for one of these Loan Programs when they are ready to purchase a house. My intent in writing this series on Mortgage/Loan Programs with Low or No Downpayment Still Available In Connecticut is to provide the necessary information that will allow Borrowers to do that.
Three of the Loan Programs that I will be writing about are available in other States as well, so the information that I will be providing about them will be useful to these Borrowers as well. I am looking forward to writing this series on Mortgage/Loan Programs with Low or No Downpayment is Still Available In Connecticut, and the first Loan Program that I plan to cover is the one that is specific to Connecticut First Time Homebuyers CHFA, which I plan to write on Saturday.

My favorite meal of the day is breakfast, but unfortunately because of time constraints I don't get to have a full breakfast as often as I would like, and because it is my favorite meal I will sometimes have it as my dinner meal. When I do get a chance to go out for breakfast Mitchell's On Main Street In Cromwell, Connecticut is my favorite place to go.
Mitchell's On Main Street In Cromwell, Connecticut is not fancy as you can see from the pictures, but I do not go there because of looks, I go there because of the quality of the food, and Mitchell's On Main Street In Cromwell, Connecticut is as good as it gets. They have three locations in Connecticut, Mitchell's on the River at 273 Meadow Road - Rocky Hill, Mitchell's Coffee House at 2010 Silas Deane Hwy. - Rocky Hill, and the one that I go to Mitchell's On Main Street at 317 Main St in Cromwell.
Yesterday when I was there the breakfast specials were 2 Eggs with Spuds, Biscuit and Gravy, and Texas French Toast. My favorite though is their 3 Egg Beacon and Cheese Omelet with Spuds and Italian Bread Toast. You should have seen some of the looks that I got from a couple of people sitting next to me when I was taking a picture of my food, it was pretty funny. I was there late morning so there were not a lot of people there, but within 30 minutes the tables started to fill up.
I have also had lunch Mitchell's On Main Street In Cromwell, Connecticut and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. But because I really enjoy breakfast that is what I normally get whether it is morning, noon, or evening, breakfast is served all day long.
I would encourage you to stop in at Mitchell's On Main Street In Cromwell, Connecticut if you are traveling through Cromwell, Connecticut on RT 9. If you do, you will be happy that you decided to, and be prepared to have a great meal at a very affordable price.

This weekend was a great weekend for Yankee Fans, the Yankees not only broke an 8 game losing streak against the Red Sox, but they SWEPT them. That is not the only reasons why this was a great weekend for Yankee Fans. The Yankees held the Red Sox scoreless for 31 consecutive innings, and were one inning short of holding them scoreless for three consecutive games.
Friday night's game between A.J. Burnett and Josh Beckett was a classic. The Yankees and Red Sox went 14 innings of scoreless baseball until the Yankees scored 2 runs to end the game on a walk off home run by Alex Rodríguez. And last night capped off a perfect weekend with the Red Sox going ahead 2-1 in the eight inning, to only have the Yankees come back with four runs in the bottom of the eight inning and win the game 5-2.
It does not get much better than this for Yankee Fans. We are up 6.5 games on the Sox's, and have left the Red Sox battling for a wild card spot with the Texas Rangers. The next three games with the Red Sox in two weeks, at Fenway Park, will probably determine how the rest of the season will go for both teams.
GO YANKEES!!!!!!!
