Halloween in Walhalla SC was just a simple holiday till Henry Brown moved to town. He bought the house across from the Westview Cemetery. Halloween was his favorite holiday and he knew owning a house by a cemetery would make the holiday more fun.

In 2006 he started making plans on how to make Halloween his holiday in Walhalla. He invited his porch society friends to come over and help out.
Halloween was on a Tuesday night, the weather was cool but mild. The kids started coming by about 5 pm and by 8 the party was over. 38 little ghost and goblins came out that night. The cutest one was Cooper from around the corner. He came as a farmer with his overalls and John Deer Cap. He had a handkerchief to wipe away the sweat. We also had ninja turtles and many princesses.
Fun was had by all and many of the kids vowed to come again next year....the planning had started. Halloween in Walhalla SC was going to be the best in the world!!!
Halloween in Walhalla SC might have been just another holiday, till Henry Brown
moved to town. Halloween is Henry's favorite holiday. He choose to live in the
house across the street from the cemetery. You know the one with the big oak
tree and a deep patch of woods along one side.
This is the city cemetery (Westview) and since it is in Walhalla the residents date
back to the 1850's. They were the city founding fathers...teachers and ministers
and doctors and nurses...the grave stones give some history if you just look.
Lest's not stray from the story we must get back to Henry, when he moved in to the house across from the cemetery all he could think of was how wonderful Halloween was going to be. 2006 was the first year for Halloween on Pine Street with Henry Brown. He made plans, re-arranged plans, bought supplies, made more plans and this is how it goes:
1) he would have the biggest candy stash in the whole town. Walmart and their trunk or treat would be put to shame. The chamber could not hold a candle ...if he could just keep from eating it all.
2) he would have friends over to share in the best holiday of the year. He would cook something for them to enjoy while the candy was being handed out. He could just see himself shopping and chopping and getting ready for the fun
3) he would make sure that all the kids would know about the corner and would come back every year..
The plan in 2006 was simple...stay tuned we have updates for the evolution till 2011. Halloween in Walhalla SC is the best.
