"Keep Austin Weird" Icon Leslie has passed away!
We mourn the passing of Leslie Cochran, 60, of Austin Texas who died today, March 8, 2012. Leslie was the poster man of Keep Austin Weird. You could see him around town wearing his favorite thong, women's high heel shoes and bra....sometimes he added a tutu to his ensemble.

Leslie will be missed. His charm and presence made the tourist seek him out. Many folks just had to have their picture taken with Leslie...I unfortunately never had the pleasure but saw him frequently over the years around Austin, especially in the entertainment district.
Austin is known for many weird things....the Funky Chicken Coop Tour (April 7, 2012), Eeyore's Birthday Party (April 28, 2012), Chicken Shit Bingo at Ginny's Little Longhorn Saloon on Burnet Rd. every Sunday @ 4 pm and BatFest, celebrating those high flying bats from under Congress Street Bridge (August 25, 2012) .... Leslie was the "cherry" on top of this Sundae weirdness.

There will be only one Leslie, although others have tried copying his style (I see a thong wearing man riding his bike around the city now). We raise a toast to all the good Leslie did for our Capital City - Austin Texas.

Austin Texas Relocation - where to live, what to do!
As a newcomer to any city, the easier the move becomes when you know where the malls are located, great restaurants, school districts, parks and more.
So how do you achieve the "I've made the right relocation decision"?
In Austin Texas, relocation is made easier by reading THE COMMUNITY IMPACT. This newspaper covers different areas of town. You can get it sent electronically or pick it up around town in paper print.
THE COMMUNITY IMPACT covers an array of subjects - all relevant to newcomers deciding where to live or folks who reside here already.
As their motto says - Local. Useful. Everyone Gets It. So chase those "Relocation Blues" away - THE COMMUNITY IMPACT is a must read!

Open Letter to a Lender....
Dear Lender,
Our mutual client chose you for a reason. You promised a great interest rate and reasonable fees. Customer service is your forte'....it says so on your website and email!

So why didn't you read the contract? The buyer and seller negotiated terms in good faith. They expect you to know the details of the contract.
· The closing date was chosen for a reason.
· A new survey is to be ordered and delivered by a specified date per the contract.
· The finance addendum states a deadline date that a buyer must give the seller to say financing is obtainable.
Are you aware that missing deadlines are a breach of contract? Do you care? The buyer and seller have rights....and breaching the contract isn't one of them.
Did you call the client with an explanation about why you didn't meet those deadlines?
Our business is based on our reputations. It's how we get referrals. I don't believe I can honestly refer you to anyone. Don't send me a survey after closing unless you are prepared for what I'm going to say about your "CUSTOMER SERVICE".
Regards,
A Professional Realtor
Questions to ask your lender.... a must read for buyers!
Buyers it's not all about the interest rate. Yes, the interest rate on your loan is important but before that interest rate can be applied you must have GOOD SERVICE from the lender you chose.
Ask the questions before you say yes to that lender. Your transaction period should run like a well-oiled car that only needs minor maintenance. Do your home work. Work with a lender that your Realtor recommends.
Make this purchase fun...not hell on earth!
