“Soup”er Wednesday at Keller Williams Realty in Fayetteville, NC

Yes, you read that right, “Soup”er. As the ALC Social Chairperson, I am thinking of ways to bring the agents together and what better way than food? The family that eats together, stays together, right? I had actually heard about the “souper” day from a co-worker last year but decided this year to put it in affect. I asked several agents to make a batch of soup to share with their fellow agents. Although this was a somewhat last minute thing, it turned out great!

Pat Heath made some wonderful beef chili, Julie Milana made some really good Taco Soup that was also very healthy so even those on a diet were able to eat, Amber Trusievitz made some yummy bean and chicken chili, and I made some chicken and wild rice soup (very yummy if I may say so ~smile~). To top it off, Heather Fera made us an apple pie, (in fact there were no leftovers it was so good) and a scrumptious pumpkin pie as well.

The agents all seemed to enjoy our luncheon and get together. Several of our agents are already planning on who’s making the soup for our next “Soup”er Wednesday. We will be changing it up as the weather gets warmer and doing salads, tacos, or sandwiches. Just a time to enjoy some food and good fellowship...and who knows, you might even learn a thing or two!

Ladies Night with the FireAntz

Shawna's FireAntzLast night our local hockey team, The Fayetteville FireAntz, had a ladies night. They were bringing awareness to the issue of Breast Cancer by wearing pink jerseys, giving pink shirts away to the fans and after the game auctioning jerseys and hockey sticks and gave the proceeds to charity as well. What a great way to show support to your community.
There were venders throughout the concourse to have give aways and to show support for Breast Cancer. My office, Keller Williams had a pink basket giveaway and we had several agents and one of our core services representative Traci Marley with Wade Dunbar Insurance to help us out.

Although we did not win last night (over time and a shoot out) it was still a great time for everyone who sat around us. There were a couple of people that had never been to hockey games and were impressed how much fun goes on at a game. There is dancing, chances to win neat prizes, and a chance to get out and meet some new people. Last night there was even a proposal of marriage (she said yes).
If your looking for something to do that the whole family will like, try out a Fayetteville FireAntz game.

Omni Health and Fitness Center in Fayetteville

This morning my wonderful husband decided it was time for us to get back to our fitness routine. Since it is rather cold outside this means hitting the gym. We are members of the Omni Health and fitness Center here in Fayetteville NC. We purchased our membership last year, and were very happy with the facilities, the location and the hours. Just got out of the routine of going..and since I am the queen of excuses, we haven’t been in quite some time.

I was a bit nervous as we walked in...but things were the same. People working out and doing their own thing. We were attending the cardio kickboxing class and I had never been to one of these classes. Let me just say, it kicked butt! I felt it was a good workout after the warm-up! Needless to say I know I am out of shape, but I know continuing to go to the Omni Health and Fitness Center, I will get there a little quicker.
If your looking for a gym to become a member I highly recommend checking the Omni out. They have a lot of cardio machines, several classes through out the day, a woman's only workout room, child care and even a smoothie bar.

Fayetteville, NC State of the Real Estate Market

Here in Fayetteville, NC I am asked by buyers and sellers alike..."how is the real estate market"? After I determine why they are asking I go on to tell them our area has not been hit like other areas. We are still doing plenty of real estate here locally. We are fortunate to have Ft. Bragg and Pope Air Base which helps with the constant movement of homes in our area. Thanks to yesterdays State of the Real Estate Market summit, I now have facts to back this up!
sold
In the last 10 years our average appreciation rate is up over all 5.5%. In 2001 only 3752 homes closed compared to 2010 5731 closed. In the year 2001 the average sales price was $106,582 and 2010 the average sales price was $162.329. In my book, that isn't too shabby. If you break this down to existing homes sales and new construction we do see some differences. Existing homes closed in 2001 2685 and in 2010 was 3575 and average sales price for 2001 $98,368 and 2010 was $136.985. New construction saw a huge jump 2001 1067 homes sold and 2010 2156, and average sales price in 2001 was $127.251 and in 2010 was $204.353. These are just a few figures that the Fayetteville Regional Association of Realtors put together for us Realtors...Thanks guys for giving me this kind of information for my clients!
