Buying Organic Vegetables in Franklin TN
Every Saturday you can be sure to find the Delvin Farms Organic Vegetables Booth at the Franklin TN Factory. Thousands of people shop at the Farmers Market in Franklin, and Hundreds sign up each year to b a part of the CSA program offered by Delvin Farms.
Buying Organic Vegetables in Franklin TN was not always an easy thing to do. The Delvin family has been providing local produce since 1972. Their 94 acre farm is located in the town of College Grove, south and east of Franklin. They grow a wonderful variety of organic veggies almost all year long.
“We believe in growing methods that improve our environment by enhancing the quality of our water, building our soils for healthy plants and by not using harmful chemicals in our farming. Our organic vegetables are packed with nutrients extracted from our deep mineral rich soils, clean air and fresh water. “ says Cindy Delvin.
Hank and Cindy Delvin are the heart and soul behind this farm. Neither of them were here on Saturday because the prior Saturday, on his way to the market with a truck full of vegetables, Hank was in a head-on collision. The Delvin family farm consists of Hank and Cindy (mom and dad) their daughter Amy, their son Hank Jr., his wife Liz and baby Ryder.
When looking for Organic Vegetables in the Franklin TN area, one usually ends up at a Community Supported Agriculture farmer, commonly known as CSA. People usually join a CSA project for fresh, ripe, and locally grown foods. Anyone who has bought tomatoes after November or before May, know that they are picked green and then shipped across the United States, hoping that they ripen along the way. They are often genetically engineered to survive these long trips. That's assuming, of course, that they're even grown in the USA.
With access to a farm, the freshness and taste totally astonds many. Cindy will tell you: "People start eating vegetables they never liked before because they had never tasted them vine-ripened and chemical-free. By providing this service, consumers can be certain, through direct contact and knowing their grower, that their food is produced in the safest of environments."

The Nashville TN Real Estate market has had its share of ups and downs these past 18 months but Holt Woods has more than held its own in terms of value. Located near the border of Davidson and Williamson County, you have easy access to both I-65 and I-24.

Recycling at Nippers Corner in south Nashville returns to Granbery Elementary. 
And that's where it should be!
Granbery Elementary has led the area in recycling, thanks to the diligence of Sherry, for years. Every Friday recycle dumpsters are dropped off in the north parking lot and are available to the public for recycling. You may recycle glass, plastic, steel and tin cans, mixed paper and cardboard. There are even left over bread products from Panera Bread.
All of the money raised from this project goes to Granbery Elementary school.
Recycling at Nippers Corner changed three years ago when Metro contracted with the Nippers' Corner Walmart to put recycle receptacles in their parking lot. Unfortunately that meant a decrease in the about of recycle material received by the Granbery locations. Though many people remained loyal, the new Walmart location was available 24/7 instead of just on the weekends.
A spokeswoman for Walmart's corporate offices said: "One of Walmart's overall sustainability goals is to create zero waste, and we have a robust recycling program for waste generated by our stores, clubs and operations. Unfortunately, unattended drop-off containers in our parking lots are often used by people to drop off non-recyclable items, which can be hazardous. For the safety of our customers and associates, a dedicated recycling facility offers a better option for returning items for recycling."
Now, Recycling in the Nippers Corner area will be found exclusively at Granbery Elementary until metro finds a new home for their receptacles. Please recycle. It helps the community, it helps the planet and it helps Granbery Elementary.

Holt Woods Annual Neighborhood Picnic has been scheduled for Saturday August 29th from 4 to 8pm.
The Holt Woods Annual Picnic is upon us again but bigger and better! Get it on your schedule, you and your family don't want to miss the fun.
There will be Hamburgers and Hot dogs cooked on the grill, salads, chips and usually some great homemade deserts. The Homeowner's Association will provide the meat, buns, condiments, and eating utinsels. Homeowners are asked to bring side dishes and their own drinks. Cups and ice will be provided.
This year there will also be LIVE MUSIC provided by a band that is living in the neighborhood. There will also be a water slide and many more activites. Come meet your neighbors and Board members.

Farmers Market in Lenox Village in South Nashville! 
Started this May, it is now open every Saturday from 7am to 1pm in the central Common area by the Gazebo. Lenox Village has become a popular destination as it sits near the county line between Davidson and Williamson counties. Located just off Nolensville road, south of Old Hickory Blvd and north of Nolensville and Concord Road.
This morning I stopped by Jackie's booth and bought a couple of HOMEMADE sausage and biscuits for only 50 cents each! Delicious is just an understatement for these yummie treats. She had homemade brownies, cakes breads and many other things.
The farmers market in Lenox Village is scheduled to be run from early spring through October. Current vendors include Morning Glory Orchard, Walnut Hill Farms, Petty Branch Farms, Jackie’s Deserts, Ma Bella, and Leann Homemade Gourmet.
Shoppers can find freshly grown local vegetables, Goat cheese products from Ma Bella - including milk soap, lotion and detergent, jewelry and many other items. This is likely to grow as neighbors discover this ideal place to pick up fresh vegetables. 
The Lenox Village neighborhood was designed as a residential community with walk to businesses and restaurants. It has taken several years for there to be more than a small handful of businesses in the community.
With the addition of a Farmers Market in Lenox Village, south Nashvillians now can shop locally instead of driving across town for the same selections.
Neighbors across the street living in Bradford Hills and Holt Woods can easily walk to this great little market.
