Highland Homes

New Facebook Contest Offers a Great Prize

Highland Homes wants to know which Greens of Hidden Creek model home is more appealing to buyers. So the creative thinking Florida new home builder decided to sponsor a Facebook contest for the community.

The contest is simple. In order to submit an entry, visit the Highland Homes Facebook page and write which model home you think is most appealing to buyers. Highland Homes is encouraging contestants to give specific details about the features of the model they most enjoyed. Additionally, they want to know which features visitors considered not as great.

Five minutes of writing on the Highland Homes Facebook wall could win you a $100 gift card. Every entry is automatically entered to win.

Both of the models at the Greens were decorated by Stacey Antonakos-Perez, the Highland Homes Studio Manager.

The first model at the Greens is the Monroe model. Using bold colors and decorative touches, the model is transformed into a home which appeals to buyers. The home offers three bedrooms, two baths, a two car garage and a large master suite with a luxury bath and screened covered lanai.

The second model is a two story home with a master on the main. It offers large walk in closets, a double vanity and separate shower and soaking tub. Upstairs is the bonus room and three secondary bedrooms.

The Greens of Hidden Creek featuring Wesley Chapel new homes showcases the "green" home with the most innovative energy related products a home can have. The green built Florida new homes have double pane, low-E glass, insulated foam wall block, R-30 insulation, Whirlpool Energy Star appliances and more. Such energy efficient features can save a home owner almost 40% on monthly utility bills.

Highland Homes Hosts Annual Sales Award Banquet

Highland Homes hosted their annual Sales Award Banquet on Thursday, March 4th and the Lakeland Yacht Club. Among the night’s festivities, several sales managers were recognized for their hard work, dedication, and ability to rise above the negative reports in today’s media regarding the current state of the housing market.

A surprise award was given to Highland Homes’ highly acclaimed Online Sales Manager of the Year, Carmen Arbizu. Carmen started her career with Highland Homes in November of 2007, and has been a valuable member of the Sales and Marketing staff, working relentlessly on providing the Sales team with quality online leads from our website and several other online mediums employed by Highland Homes.

The night’s festivities went on to include an award for Top Sales Assistant of the Year, Kay Hough. Kay started her career with Highland Homes in March 2007 as the sales assistant in the Hillsborough County community of Ayersworth Glen, only to continually impress us with her knowledge, her work ethic, and her loyalty. Kay provides daily support to our Top Sales Manager of the Year Cindy Weatherly. With over 12 million in sales in 2008, the Ayersworth Glen team has proven their stamina and tenacity on a daily basis.

Cindy Weatherly is one of only a few sales people in the state who have achieved over $12 million dollars in sales volume since the decline of the industry in 2006. Cindy sold 63 homes and closed 69 homes in 2008 for a volume of over $13 million. This is an outstanding accomplishment for any sales person.

First and second place winners of Top Sales Awards belonged to Gene Kucher, a seasoned home sales professional with an impressive amount of sales totaling over $8,000,000 during his first year with Highland Homes. Gene joined Highland Homes in late January, so his accomplished 59 Florida new home sales were sold in less than 11 months. Ken Smith, a long time veteran in the housing industry, started his career here at Highland Homes on the day that Bob Adams first opened his doors in 1996. Ken has worked with Bob Adams for over 20 years and continues to provide top-notch service to all of his customers long after the sale. Ken had 38 sales with a volume of nearly 7 million and closed 40 homes for a volume of over 7 million. Doug Pike another Highland Home veteran was also awarded for his sales accomplishments. Doug works in Towne Park, which features Lakeland new homes, and closed 37 homes for a value of 7.5 million.

This year’s Rookie of the Year went to Denise Abercrombie. Denise joined the Highland Homes team over 10 years ago, and worked as the company comptroller for many years. As a new member of the Sales team, Denise has brought in over $4,000,000 worth of sales in her first year-noteworthy in any market-exceptional in today’s!

Highland Homes as a company sold and closed nearly 400 homes in 2008. This is exceptional given the current economy and an industry plagued with negative news. Better news yet, Highland Homes is already on track to sell more than 500 homes this year!
