Yes Hilo does enjoy the lazy hazy days of summer time! Our days get longer. Our day time temps slip into the mid 80s and most of us hit the beaches of Hilo. This year there is little rain so we have had some glorious bright sunny days. Last Wednesday was such a day.
Here is a photo of Hilo with Mauna Kea in the back ground. It taken in the small park on the ocean side of Suisan fish market with my Nikon D-50.

My name is John Petrella. I am an Accredited Buyer's Representative, a Graduate of the Realtor Institute and a full time licensed BROKER REALTOR® in the State of Hawaii.
Prior to my career in Real Estate, I managed and taught on the East Coast of the United States for over 20 years in a engineering research and teaching facility for a major university in down town Washington DC. For summer fun I worked at NASA/GSFC on remote sensing projects, and participated in field studies in Oklahoma, Alabama and Maryland. Before my engineering career at the university, I served several years in the USAF as a technician. While in the USAF, I was stationed in Alaska (6 miles above the Arctic Circle!), Alabama, Arkansas, Montana, Mississippi, Texas, Germany and Korea.
I know first hand what it is like to move to the Big Island, buy land and then build a home. I am so very happy to call the Big Island home!
