The Cane Bay Plantation area has a new Publix Supermarket! What was it my mother always said to me when I was growing impatient “ Good things come to those who wait!”
The residents in the expanding communities of Cane Bay Plantation and Del Webb Charleston are ecstatic. How do I know? Because the new Publix Store Manager Mike Blackstone confirmed for me the #1 reaction from the hundreds of new shoppers as “Extreme Excitement!“ Standing greeting new customers at the door for 15 hours he should know ! The #1 comment was: “We are so excited that the new Publix is open!”
For 15 years Mr. Blackstone has managed the Publix in Goose Creek and he is thrilled at the opportunity to manage the store’s newest arrival at The Market in Cane Bay. “Folks have been driving over 9 miles to shop in Goose Creek; with the opening of our new store they are now just minutes away.”
CEO for Publix , Mr. Ed Crenshaw , also visited and met with all store employees to discuss the importance of the new store and the Publix Brand. “We don’t just sell groceries to the public we provide a service to the community.” Seems Publix really does live up to this statement being named the #1 supermarket for customer satisfaction by the American Customer Satisfaction Index ( ACSI) 16 years in a row.
Although nothing official there are rumors swirling that Publix, considered the central, anchor store at The Market at Cane Bay, will soon have retail neighbors which may include some restaurants… Great news for the growth that is anticipated in the Cane Bay Plantation / Carnes Crossing areas.

If you are considering an age restricted community such as Del Webb Charleston or a home where your family can grow surrounded by amenities and new schools please call Heather Lord 843 810-9414 about real estate in Cane Bay Plantation.. It would be my privilege to set up viewings of homes for you in these wonderful communities.
My sister and her husband have two gorgeous, four legged, furry children… ( photos attached) and locating a dog-friendly park was a critical element in their search for a new home.
So , why haven’t I considered researching the Dog Parks in the Charleston SC area before now… No answer except to say I am making up for lost time…
It is natural for dogs to want to socialize and play with other dogs. They are after all descendent from wolves and the pack instinct is strong. But … domestic dogs leave the “Pack” their siblings typically by 8 weeks of age. So it is up to us humans to provide friendly opportunites for our “ four legged- furry “ children to socialize with their doggy peers as well as people other than their owners.
Dogs that are allowed to socialize with other animals and owners build good relationships and develop positive coping skills – reducing stress & anxiety… Several online sources suggest that well socialized dogs that receive exercise, play with other dogs & owners are less aggressive in their behavior.
So if you have been wondering; “Where can I take my dog for some exercise and interaction with other canines ? “ Here is your answer… Just one caveat “PLEASE COMPLY WITH DOG PARK ETIQUETTE”

I attended a "Lunch & Learn" session at CTAR ( Charleston Trident Association of Realtors) and listened to the Charleston County Master-in-Equity, Honorable Mikell R. Scarborough discuss the foreclosure sale process, latest foreclosure statistics and the recent legislative action signed by South Carolina's Chief Justice Toal.
I cannot share all that I learned in this post but felt the following highlights were relevant to all homeowners / future homeowners in South Carolina and specifically individuals facing foreclosure or considering the purchase of property at a Foreclosure Sale.
