ok...So my husband didn't like the first Turkey pic...I spent minutes working on optimizing the photo, and it just wasn't good enough; It had something to do with the beard of the turkey? Tell me why...I am still trying to understand the bearded creatures that wobble into our yard...but I guess the beard and the male species have something in common. Size matters!!!


The first thing you must do if you have taken this shot, with a 12 pixel camera, is reduce it to a size that is ACCEPTABLE to the web. For easier loading I would suggest 600 x 570.





Then it will become very small on your screen...but don't fear...just crop it...using the cropping tool...the one highlighted in the next photo.





Next select the filters menu...in most cases you can select adjust color, > auto levels, select filters again and sharpen and sharpen; just once in most cases...but experiment if you want.





This photo is not quite ready for the web..because it will take 18 seconds to load in most instances.


Fireworks has a built in tool to help you with optimizing for the web, and you can select either 2 up or 4 up...





I selected 2 up in this instance. and pronto it portraits the original and the image to the right will give you stats on the amount of time it will take to load on your website.





To the right of this picture you will see an optimize menu...click on it once.





In this instance I selected a quality of 38...you can also play around with this if you wish to experiment...





but as you can see..."Presto"..a perfect picture for the web.

Animation can increase your heart rate, improve your health and get you a date with Lisa Simpson...NOT..However, animation can do one of the above; Can you guess which one?

It is the believed by some people that animation requires extra software for viewers to download, however this can be true...in Fireworks you can create simple animations that can be saved in a format, most viewers can see without all of the add-ons. (Anyone who can view a photo, could also view these animations) I love this program and use it often, both for creating animation and to improve the quality of my photos!

Just a thought if you are planning to write blogs, this is a tool that can really come in handy.

There is one tool I find really fun to use and necessary in doing more complex photography and animation; Since purchasing it I just can't live without it. Adobe Fireworks is well worth the money and the effort it took to learn the advanced features of this photo editor.

Here was the boring shot I took of the Turkey a couple of days ago.





After working with it in Fireworks, it now looks very close to what I was seeing in our woods.

I had to post this video one of my clients just sent me: If you love animals you will love this video, Animals behaving, like animals...you might be suprised to see some of your favorite critters in the act, or acting up. lol
