This Sun Valley condo was vacant, and the owners needed to sell it quickly. The original walls were white, and the carpeting was forest green. It was necessary to re-paint the walls and replace the carpeting with warm tan tones to unify and expand the space. The kitchen cabinets were also painted, and the white and green counter tiles were replaced with Kashmir Gold slab granite surfaces. The owners had me purchase and install furnishings for the entire home located in the upscale market of Warm Springs. The first clients to arrive at the open house bought the condo for full price! They also loved the furnishings so much that they purchased the entire household in addition to the selling price. As an experienced stager and decorater, I chose furnishings to compliment the architecture of the home and its location. I have also found that by unifying wall and carpeting colors, a home increases in visual size and invites people inside. I believe that these home staging tips are key in preparing a house for listing.
This 1.9 million dollar home was built in 1989, and the furnishings were somewhat dated. The homeowners had it on the market in 2003 for eight months with no offers being made. Upon listing it again four years later, Debra Rowley staged this home by removing most of existing furniture, and reviving the rooms with contemporary pieces. A full price offer was made at the first open house, showing that the bones of a house can be excellent, but tired furniture distracts people's awareness of the initial beauty of its structure. Staging works!

Debra Rowley Interior Staging was selected to furnish this vacant apartment as the model for the property owners' sales brochure and website. The unit overlooks Issaquah Creek and the woods in a beautiful setting. Earth-toned furnishings bring color and warmth to the white walls, and the art is large-scaled to give the rooms a sense of space and depth.
I work with John L. Scott and Windermere agents on a regular basis. For more information on my staging and interior design services call: (425) 442-8783, or visit my website: debra@debrarowleyinteriorstaging.com.

I was hired to stage this contemporary house in Seattle that was being refurbished when I first saw it. Filled with construction equipment, it was a bit of a challenge to visualize each room's potential. It was so exciting to see the house painted and carpeted so I could bring in the furniture and accessories to complete the transformation.
I was pleased that home staging expert Debra Gould, The Staging Diva, featured this proof that home staging works in her Business of Home Staging blog."
