Horatio Chiorean, owner of Dryer Vent Wizard of Palm Beach County, Florida was saddened by this news
Boynton Beach, FL - A recent dryer fire was reported in a home in Boynton Beach where some of a woman's pets were killed. The entire neighborhood came together to help the animal trainer after flames consumed her home. She had just come home from work when she saw smoke coming out of her windows. She was able to save her dogs, but four cats died in the fire.
Horatio Chiorean, owner of Dryer Vent Wizard of Palm Beach, Florida says this tragedy could have easily been prevented. He was interviewed shortly after the news reported this tragedy and he said, "In regards to the above local news, please know that pet hair is a very problematic material inside the dryer vents. It almost always causes complete obstructions of the vent because pet hair removed from clothes and towels is more abundant than lint. In the vent pet hair weaves itself causing very hard blockages. We know this because we routinely clean dryer vents in vet offices, pet salons, horse riding establishments, animal shelters and houses with multiple pets. In addition, Dryer Vent Wizard of Palm Beach has donated a very significant portion of their work to animal shelters such as "Grayhound Pets of America" and "Safe Harbor"."
Horatio urges everyone to have their dryer vents inspected by a professional dryer vent cleaning company at least once a year to be sure they are not clogged with lint, dust and animal hair. "The fee for dryer vent cleaning service is very little compared to the cost of repairs and loss of lives as the result of a fire," says Horatio.

Boynton Beach Woman's Pets Killed In Fire Neighborhood Comes Together To Help Animal Trainer After Home Destroyed A Boynton Beach woman is now left to clean up the mess left behind by a fire earlier Monday. To make matters worse, the blaze killed some of her pets. Along Chrysanthemum Drive, the entire neighborhood came together to help Margaret Pittman after flames consumed her home. "I was hoping that it wasn't anything, you know, like you don't believe it," Pittman said. At about 4 p.m. Monday, a fire began inside Pittman's house in the Water Chase neighborhood. "You couldn't even see the house 'cause the smoke was so bad. It was totally black all over and the back yard was really bad. You couldn't even see through it," neighbor Heidi Berger said. Pittman, an animal trainer, had just come home from work. She was outside when she saw smoke coming out of her windows. "I ran over and the whole house was filed in there," Pittman said. "I got the dogs out immediately and I just couldn't get to the cats." The four felines died. Investigators believe the fire started in the laundry room, where the drier overheated. Pittman's dogs survived and so has her spirit. "This is when you count on your friends," Pittman said. Pittman said she staying with friends and will take life one day at a time. |

Muli-unit buildings are a great concern for dryer vent cleaning company who commits to educating customers and increasing public awareness on dryer vent safety and fire prevention
Palm Beach, FL --Recent news reported a clothes dryer fire in an apartment building causing major damage and evacuating of some units. Thankfully, there were no injuries, but it is estimated that it will cost over $50,000 to repair the damages and some families lost their home and possessions.
Horatio Chiorean, owner of Dryer Vent Wizard was at a recent landlord's meeting, where he spoke to the group about dryer vent safety. He brought samples of proper and improper dryer vent material and explained how using the wrong type can create a fire hazard. "Dryer vents should be professionally inspected at least once a year to prevent lint build-up from causing a fire. When tenants don't properly maintain their dryer vent systems, the landlords end up being liable for whatever happens. In large buildings, many lives are at risk, because of one negligent tenant," Horatio explained.
Dryer Vent Wizard, Dry Clothes, Safe Homes, specializes in dryer vent cleaning, repair, installation and alterations. They also provide a great service to their community, educating each customer in dryer vent maintenance and dryer fire prevention. Service technicians cover everything they need to know about maintaining their dryer vent system. DVW technicians will teach them how to properly clean and maintain the system between annual inspections and professional cleanings.
Horatio urges landlords and apartment building managers to have all dryer vents in the building professionally cleaned and inspected at least once a year or whenever a tenant moves out. "The cost of the inspections and necessary repairs is really small compared to potential damages, injuries and even loss of lives if a fire should occur," said Chiorean. Visit http://www.dryerventwizard.com for great fire prevention tips and more information.

Once you decide it's time for that all out dryer cleaning, do you know how to prepare your laundry room for the arrival of a technician?
Honestly, you don't have to do anything, if you don't want to. But the more the technician has to do, the longer they will have to be at your house. Not to mention, it's just nice to try and make the job a little easier on the person coming in to do the work. Here's a quick look at ways to make the professional cleaning of your dryer go much more smoothly.
In the Dryer
Make sure there aren't any clothes in the dryer. This serves a two-fold purpose. First, the technician will likely need to be able to get into the dryer, or at least expose the drum of the clothes dryer while they are working on it. If your clothes are there, they will either have to deal with them, or they could get dirty, after you just washed them. You also may not really want to have someone seeing all of your unmentionables, so it's best to have them out of the dryer before the technician comes in.
Around the Dryer
When you walk into your laundry room, take a common sense look at what is going to get in the technicians way. Any boxes, bags, pet food, cleaning supplies or other items you have stored near and around the dryer are going to slow them down in their work. Try to clear a decent working area around the dryer so they have a place to work.
Problems in Your House
Do you have a pet that doesn't do well with strangers? When the clothes dryer technician is coming to work on your dryer, you need to find a place to safely keep that pet away from them. This also counts if you have a pet that doesn't like loud or unfamiliar noises. The work that it will take to open your dryer, clean out all the parts, and put it back together again could be very noisy and scare your pet.
Having your clothes dryer cleaned professionally at least once a year is a very important part of maintenance in your home. While it's a necessary thing to do, you can make it a less time-consuming appointment by making sure you have taken the necessary steps to give the technician a space and environment where they can get the job done.
