The Market really seems to be bouncing back! What are your thoughts?

I can see clearly nowI'm not even a Realtor, and have noticed that business has been picking up like never before for what I do to help real estate exposure. We've been in biz now for over 4 years and have three different companies that have never had much work in January until this year. Seeing the Real Estate Market bounce back ever so slightly is a big boost for morale.

Admittedly, I don't keep up with all of the numbers that many Real Estate Agents keep an eye on, but from the outside in, it looks as though things are picking up speed!

What are your thoughts on this? Any success stories?

I'm in Fort Collins, CO and I know that other areas of the nation may not see as much movement, but I'd love to hear about it.

You should know what Organic Internet lingo is... Take a peek...

If you don't already know this, you really should!  Understanding the basics of what Organic means in terms of Internet Marketing is very important.  We always hear that we should be doing this, and doing that, but how often is it that we truly understand why?

Here is a short video that explains Organic Search Results as their seen in Google... just in case you were wondering.  It also touches on Google Places, an extremely important tool for your Real Estate business that should not be overlooked.  I'll be creating another video about this one soon.

The Man who couldn't find "GOOGLE" - No Kidding!

Can't get found online!Please Note: The following story is true, but the names have been omitted to protect the privacy of a very uninformed individual.

I had a phone call yesterday from an Agent that wanted us to transfer an existing listing package to his name because the original listing agent moved out of state.

I explained that we could do this and have him place well in Google for the listing within about 3-5 days with our services. What he said next was astonishing to me.

The Agent actually asked me... "How do I find Google?" and "How can I verify that Google has accepted me?"

The first thoughts that crossed my mind were... "This guy is joking... right??!" But the agent truly sounded sincere with his questions.

So to make a long story short... I explained how to search for absolutely anything that you could think of by using Google, and how to sign up for a free Facebook account which he thought was going to cost him a fortune. The guy was thrilled that he made a giant leap into the new millennium... and for free.

Maybe it's because I am a Marketer that makes a living off of getting people mass exposure, or maybe it's because I have never been at such a loss for words in my professional life. But I have to wonder if this gentleman has been under a rock for the last decade, and how it's possible for anyone to survive without being able to find "Google."

Unconscionable I tell ya!

Att'n Agents: How to see right through today's Marketing Company- The "TIPS"

Real Estate Marketing Tips for Agents to KnowIf you're like many other Real Estate Agents who have spent allot of time trying out different marketing methods and programs, only to find that the time and cash involved was barely worth the benefit. It's time to re-examine your real estate marketing efforts.

While there are no silver bullets in real estate marketing, there are millions of programs and scams out there for you to lose money on.

No matter what you do about your Real Estate marketing, it's important that you keep your eyes open and go forward with the following in mind.

  1. Any marketing company can and will be able to "WOW" you without giving real proven results. Do not let this happen to you. Can they track results? Is it automatic? Will they let you compare with competing results on similar technologies, or companies to help you make a decision on using them? Are they giving you "REAL" data? If you answer "NO" to any of these questions... "RUN!"
  2. If it's a one-dimensional service, (i.e. Virtual Tour, Printer, Web Designer, etc...) are they able to maintain an exact message, professional look, and consistent feel of all your efforts? If not, find one that can or might be able to do it all. (See this Video)
  3. Beware of any company that boasts about "Lead Capture" as the pinnacle of their offering. Lead Capturing is NOT anything new to marketing, and has always been at the core of ALL marketing. Lead Capture should be a result, and not the offer! Be careful.
  4. A "Free Service" is NOT a service... unless it's a "Soup Kitchen". Free is AWESOME! But do we really need to say it?... You get what you pay for, and there is no charity to build your business. Most of us have been a victim of the "Free Service", but again... be careful.
  5. New, but used up technology... In Real Estate, many marketing programs and services do have some benefit, but most are simply old technologies that are repackaged and marketed as the newest and best. Repackaged "Old Tech" is especially rampant in the Real Estate Industry and some of the most renowned large companies are taking advantage of Real Estate Agents and Brokers.
  6. A big company is not always better! (but that's another blog for another time) Always talk to the CEO or President before buying... If you can't talk with them direct, do not buy! If they do not care enough to talk with you personally, they will absolutely not care about your business or account.
