Perhaps you have an interest in seeing rough neighborhoods become safer places to live? We had found an amazing value on a townhome in an area that is just about to change radically with new light rail and new constuction of 600 to 1000 new homes. My buyer was due to close in 9 more days and then she went to measure the broken windows that had to be replaced prior to her lender funding the loan on Sunday afternoon.
While my buyer was measuring a neighbor called the police as several juveniles vandalized her motorcycle breaking the rear view mirrors on both side, gouging the gas tank with the local gang's symbol "HRD's block" and then threaten my buyer that they would break all the windows in the subject property. While attempting to lock up after measuring, the kids assaulted her, pushed passed her in to the unit and proceeded to rob her en mass, unzipping her back pack and grabbing her camera and money while pushing her around.
These juveniles were between 7 and 12 years of age. The police took a report and advised my buyer not to buy there.
It's a REO listing. How can anyone buy this place and actually live there? It's outragous! Children running out of control in the subsidized housing areas of the city and bringing down many parts of a city wanting to push past and change for the better. If you were the bank and listing agent would you attempt to see the buyers earnest money refunded? What would you do?
