I am writing this for Denise Shockey as she us not able to at this time. As many of you know, her husband John was the Police Chief in their hometown of Rockledge, Fl. He left early before full retirement after 32 years of service because he thought stress was making him sick. He was ail set to enter real estate with a huge SOI.
Two weeks later, John went in to the hospital with congestive heart failure, liver and kidney failure. He was near death. The doctors determined that he had a heart attack in October 2009, which explained his feeling of "stress" The heart attack was known has the "widow maker" and he has inoperable 100% blockage of the LAD artery, and is risk of sudden death. He is on a transplant list at Shands Medical Center in Florida. John has been approved for SS benefits, but that will not start for five months.
Needless to say, Denise has not been able to work much. Two weeks ago, Denise and John got a phone call at 4:30 am that their 18 year old son was in a bad accident. When they arrived, Dylan was in a coma and on life support. Dylan has had brain surgery, and is doing better, but he does have brain damage and will have a very long recovery.

The World Famous Chili Cook Off to fight cancer in February will be followed by the Poker Run to fight cancer in Brevard County Florida! The Poker Run will start at 8:30 AM on April 5, 2009 at Malibu's on Bart
on Blvd in Rockledge.

The second stop will be at Lou's Blues in Indialantic Florida on the beach side. Next stop, Earl's Hideaway in Sebastian, a very cool place also on the beach side. For a change of scenery, we will move on to Old Florida Grill in Sharpes Florida. The last stop is at the Elk's Lodge in Cocoa Fl, for food music and fun!
Come join us for a good cause and great fun!

participate in the Relay for Life and associated fundraisers!

The Community Park of ROCKLEDGE is conviently located in the central part of Brevard County, and people will be coming from, Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, Melbourne, Viera, and even from outside of Florida!
A special thanks to the City of Rockledge and Brevard County Parks and Recreation for providing such a wonderful park to have these great activities!
