Last night was filled with laughter, and music while some of my family and friends went to Historical Cocoa Village. The rest of the family and friends that couldn't come with were jealous! We all gathered at Murdock's Bistro and Char Bar located 600 Brevard Avenue. My Dad has been a musician my entire life, and his band was playing at Murdock's. We arrived early to beat the crowd as Murdock's is very popular.

You can also read more about my Dad's accomplishments there, as you can tell I am very proud of him! He once played and toured with the original group Don Love and the Heartbeats in the 1950's and 60's. He is still going strong and doing what he loves, making people happy. Cocoa Village is rich in history and has many wonderful things to do ,and night. Do yourself a favor and visit Historic Downtown Cocoa Village sometime, you'll be glad you did. You might even run in to the Midnight Wind, and my Dad, the leader of the band!

The sale of Brevard County homes and condos rose in April 2008 over March 2008. When the media finally starts recognizing and reporting something positive, we may be already be heading in the right direction. According to the Florida Today Newspaper, Brevard County home and condo sales were up in April.

The article went on to say that sales are still below this time last year. Of course the media can't state a positive point without a negative spin. Many commenter"s on the article were not happy about it either. It is still good news for many people who have been considering buying a home in Brevard County. There are plenty of homes to choose from, interest rates are low, and the majority of sellers have become realistic about prices.

Much of the increasing activity in Brevard County Florida are from short sales. Short sales present a great opportunity for buyers to get good deals. While teachers are losing jobs all over Florida, the Brevard County School School Board announced today that all teachers jobs are sparred! This is really good news for everyone in Brevard, and great news for Brevard County Florida real estate. People wanting to move to Brevard with school aged children can look forward to a school board that did everything possible to retain teachers.
Proposed Budget Cuts of 27.7 Million
Even with these cuts, all teachers keep their jobs. Teachers have a thankless job at times, and do not receive the support and respect that they deserve. Although there were budget cuts, they all kept their jobs. Kudos to the Brevard County School Board for a job well done after being dealt some bad cards.

How does the short sale of a Cocoa Beach, Florida condo end up at a Beach Boys concert? What a roller coaster ride this short was! I helped a couple place an offer on a condo in Cocoa Beach, which was a short sale. The offer was placed on February 19, 2008, and did not close until May 11, 2008. I'll spare you the details, let's just say it was one of those nightmare deals. I had the best buyers that anyone could ask for. They knew what they wanted (even though another agent wanted them to have something else), they were patient, and a pleasure to work with.
Okay, What Do The Beach Boys Have to do With a Cocoa Beach Condo Short Sale?
Half way through the transaction the buyers asked my husband and I to join them at a Beach Boys Concert at the world famous Cocoa Beach Pier. Some of our friends also went. Since this was such a quick trip, all I had was a phone camera. The weather was perfect and we all had a wonderful time. The short sale condo that our buyers had put an offer in on was next to the pier! Our buyers can watch the next concert from their balcony! We finally closed the deal on May 11, 2008. This short sale took a great deal of effort and energy to make it happen. A special thanks goes out to Derek Sichler from our local Countrywide Office. Derek was a tremendous help in breaking through the red tape, and I might add without any compensation!
What More Could There Be to This Cocoa Beach, Florida Short Sale?
A long, yet successful deal, happy condo owners, and a night out with the Beach Boys. Who could ask for more? Well, the night spent with old friends and new friends should have been enough to top it off. Not this time! The buyers (new friends) have just sent a referral, without being asked! Wait....there is more....! They also want to buy another Cocoa Beach condo, now! Truly blessed is all I can say at this point. Truly blessed!
