The Barton Boulevard Streetscape Project is starting to shape up! All of the underground work is done, and sidewalks are in. The new mast arms and street lights are spectacular, especially at night. What's Next and When Will Rockledge, Florida See the Finished Barton Streetscape Project?
As you can see from the photos, the rich, dark planting dirt is in place. Over the next few weeks trees and plants will be added. Paving will take place in June and the whole place will be looking great! Most of us can't wait for it to be finished and watch it improve the economic growth of Rockledge while also drastically making a difference in appearance. Plans are already in place to move the City of Rockledge's Cruise on in Car Shows along with November's Hot Rockin' Night's Annual Car Show!

Rockledge has done a great job on this project and it really is something to be proud of. This project as well as others are making Rockledge even a better place to work or buy a home! All of this and just minutes from Cocoa Beach and the ocean, can't ask for much more. Wait, you can ask for more. Rockledge is near the cruise ships at Port Canaveral, and less than an hour from Disney, Sea World, and all of the other Orlando attractions.
Why are so many Brevard County, Florida homes and condos expiring without selling? This is a good question for discussion, and a very serious matter for someone who has to sell their home and can't. There are several reasons why this is happening, but first let's take a brief look at the numbers.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA EXPIRED HOME LISTING NUMBERS
Last month in April there were 737 listings that expired in Brevard for both single family homes and condos. The first day of May there were 333! Many of these expired listings were short sales, further complicating things for the owners of those homes. A short sale is when a home is being sold for less than the amount owed to the lender. To put it in perspective, there were 586 closed, 962 pending/contingent, and 1599 new listings in April. These numbers are all from the Brevard MLS.
WHY DIDN'T MY BREVARD COUNTY HOME OR CONDO SELL?
Well, as you can see there were many that did sell and even more that had contracts executed. There are several primary reasons why a home does not sell. It is understood that there are always exceptions and the following are a few of the main reasons a home does not sell in Brevard County, Florida:
