Ruby Hill is an exclusive, gated community situated at the Eastern edge of Pleasanton, and nestled among the rolling hills of the Livermore Valley wine country. The community's centerpiece is the Jack Nicklaus designed, championship golg course, and the Ruby Hill Country Club that features elegant dining facilities.
There are approximately 800 homes in the community, the majority of which were custom built. The homes range from 2,200 to over 10,000 square feet. Custom homes are generally situated on half acre lots and the ones built on the golf course have beautiful vistas of the rolling hills, Mount Diablo, and city lights.
Pleasanton is situated at the crossroads of highways 580 and 680 and offers residents a plethora of services and amenities, including a wonderful bustling downtown with many restaurants, top rated schools, short distance to job centers like Silicon Valley, and the City, and recreation areas like Lake Tahoe, Yosemity, and Monterey.

Indeed it is gut wrenching to watch what is happening to banks and firms on wall street. The Dow today plunged 777 points, the worst point decline in history!
No matter who we think is responsible for all this, the huge run up in Real Estate values was unsustainable and while all this is painful to watch, we will get through it!
Looking at my home town of Pleasanton California, and every Real Estate market as they say is local, I still see a very desirable place to live, great weather, terrific schools, close proximity to jobs (Silicon Valley), close proximity to San Francisco, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, and the list goes on!
A search on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) for Pleasanton yields 106 homes pending sale as of today (Sept. 29, 2008). At about the 23rd home on the list, the price is already at $500K. At the 78th home we are at $1,095,000, and the most expensive home pending is almost $4MM.
These are pending sales! Buyers ARE purchasing homes and do not worry what is happening in the short term. They are buying a home to raise their families, play in the backyard, dress up on Halloween, and even perhaps create the next innovative technology in their garage!
So the sky is NOT falling, and we will get through this!! Just be a little patient...
