Unfortunately, my first blog is coming to fruition on a very dismal day in my life. Upon receiving a call from my best friend yesterday and spending the day in the hospital with him and his family, his father passed away. Which could only remind me, as tough as times may seem in our industry, it could always be worse. While we walk around complaining about the market and the economy, there are others in this world fighting battles we can't begin to comprehend.
With such negativity in the media regarding the state of our country, it is a wonder we haven't completely lost sight of our goals. At this time it is obvious the media outlets are not going to be our advocates and we must take the responsibility upon ourselves to educate our buyers and sellers with data they need to make smart decisions in today's market. There are deals to be made and money to be loaned; however, today's consumers need a Realtor's assistance more than ever.
There will most likely be some major changes in the real estate industry in the next year; however, change can be good! Things change at critical points when previous systems are not working properly and I think our current situation is a prime example of this! So, rather than being scared of the change, let's embrace it and let our true potential shine!
