Director Roland Emmerich has given us several apocalyptic films in the past in Independance Day and The Day After Tomorrow, and he offers another look at the end of the world in 2012.
The preview for this movie really peaked my interest, not so much for the action, but for the story line. Well I was very disappointed in BOTH.
While this movie has some of the most incredible special affects I have ever seen, it was so over the top I found myself laughing out loud when I think I was supposed be saying WOW!!
Remember that scene from Star Wars when Luke Skywalker and his X-Wing Fighter just BARELY escapes as the Death Star explodes? Well, that happened at least 15 times in this movie but instead of an X-Wing Fighter it was a limo, a Bentley, a giant ship, a small airplane, a huge airplane, and my personal favorite…
THE WINNEBAGO!!!
I understand that movies like this are supposed to be fun and an escape for a few hours but I found this one to be insulting and would not recommend it to anybody.
