The Mid Columbia Rotaract club is a service club for young prfessionals. An induction ceremony was held tuesday september 23, 2008 at the Rotaract House. The District Governor and Assistant District Governor as well as the President of Richland Rotary were on hand to induct the club for the upcoming year. There has been much to be excited about and thankful for this last year. Rotaract has been able to earn upwards of $4000 towards their goal of bringing clean water to a foreign village. They have also seen growth of the club and the ability to help others reach their goals including an Eagle Scout who helped clear a trail and place an informational stand at a trail head for the Tapteal Greenway Association.
Rotaract is doing great things and will continue to do so on bigger levels as they grow. Best of luck and congratulations!!
As a builder I tend to enjoy touring homes everywhere. I am looking forward to going to Walla Walla's first Parade this weekend. I do not have a home in their Parade so I look forward to writing more about the Parade without any bias after I get a chance to tour.

Also available will be a drawing for a box of their 'Red Run' varietals and a tasting for 10! But wait, there's more! Suzy Merz from Columbia Valley Luxury cars will be on hand with 2 gorgeous cars in the driveway. Not to mention it will all be hosted in a gorgeous 5100 sq. ft. home.
This is going to be a very exciting event, so if you're in the area be sure to stop by!

Tuesday night at 7:00 pm. Diane Howard of the Port of Benton came to Rotaract to talk about the Research District's development and time table. The development is trying to be as carbon neutral as possible, create a place for students to stay near the WSU Tri-Cities campus as well as housing for those that want to live near work, and a 9 hole golf course that uses gray water. Along with housing and office space light retail will be in the area to provide residents and professionals easy access to amentities.
This development of the Research Distrct will be a great boon to the Tri-Cities overall, and especially North Richland. New Businesses will be attracted by the close proximity to PNNL the Pacific Northwest National Labratory, and to the WSU Tri-City campus that has a new space designate to 'green fuel' research.
I cannot wait for development to continue in that area and for the type of growth it will bring to our greater community.
The Tri-Cities Parade of Homes tour kicks off today for Realtors and is open to the public Saturday. 23 homes are in the tour this year of which there are four categories. The awards will be given out to the builders at the Parade Dinner friday night so anyone taking the tour will be able to see what the judges thought of the homes.
The Parade is an excellent time to learn about Tri-Cities builders, see new trends in building and design, and to get ideas for remodeling or building your own home. For more information about the Parade of Homes, email me or visit http://hbatc.com
