The rankings are based on: business costs, labor costs, regulatory environment, economic climate, growth prospects, and quality of life. This article is yet another example of Washington State being a great place to live, expecially in the south east where cost of liveing is low and quality of life is high. It's time for the Great Mid-Columbia Duck Race again! Once a year 40,000 little rubber duckies are dumped from a cargo container into the Columbia River in the hopes of winning fantastic prizes. The race is put on by the Tri-Cities Rotary clubs. The money raised during this race benefits local charities, so you can't go wrong there. As a member of Richland Rotary I am a ducky adoption counselor as well as help set up the race. This is a community event that you can definately get behind.
