I mentioned in the New Year that I would be writing some updates on the Super Hot North Oakland/Emeryville neighborhood in the months to follow. While showing a friend around this weekend, who hadn't been in town since last year, he said it best.... "It looks like they're building a whole new city!".
Thinking about it, he's right! I drove the neighborhood with that in mind and looked at all the growth making a list of new places and businesses to see. Here's a few notes.
NEW DEVELOPMENTS AND PROJECTS IN THE WORKS... Lane Splitter Pizza -I cant wait to try this place out it's located where San Pablo, Adeline and Macarthur all intersect. Pacific Sales - This place is heaven on earth if your remodeling your kitchen! Packed with all the best in kitchen appliances, upgrades, etc. I've read a very nice revieve on Yelp.com too check them out at www.pacificsales.com Vue 46 - I really like some of the floorplans in this development and plan on getting some clients into it in the months to come! Great sq. ft. for the money, front units with Bay Views, rear units seem very relaxing looking out over some nice old Victorians. Located at Adeline and 46th check out www.Vue46.com . Next on my list is Adeline Place, very cool and a major face lift for the neighborhood. Clearly visable from the 24/580 freeway to SF or E'ville (look to your right after you pass San Pablo exit) check them out at www.adeline-emeryville.com. How about a great spot for lunch? Try the new Actual Cafe located on the corner of Alcatraz and San Pable! Good stuff and welcome to the neighborhood! It seems to be very popular with cyclists and the food is great! www.actualcafe.com If your in the mood to see a huge project in the works, head West on Park below San Pablo and watch history in the making.. PIXARis GROWING! Some of my favorite films are made here and I love their local spirit, shown off in the opening scenes of The Incredibles when they drive through our neighborhoods in Animation! Love it! Last on my list this week is the amazing job the guys at Granite Expohave done on their place! Anything you want, helpful folks and good prices! Talk to Wing Luong, he can walk you through any project or material selection. It's one of my favorite parts of town and tops on my list for investors. Call with any questions and I'll be naming some other new favorites in my next North Oakland/Emeryville Blog.

Happy New Year to all! I've decided as a regular feature on Active Rain to start writing on a regular basis about an area of the San Francisco Bay that I love... The North Oakland/Emeryville area. It's an area that I saw growing some years back and have become very passionate about. I've moved several clients into the area and invested in a couple properties myself... I think it's a winner!
I've enjoyed following the Emeryville City Plan and attending several meetings at E'ville City Hall to discuss issues effectingmy city. On any given day I enjoy a slice of pizza at Arizmendi Bakery, a coffee at Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe or playing with my dog at Christie Park across the street from Pacific Park Plaza where I live part-time and am Vice President of our Home Owners Association. I used to pick up broken glass and liquor bottles on 37th Street just above San Pablo in front of a cute little house I bought some years back. Now it's just the occasional Starbucks cup that needs to be picked up and I enjoy watching people riding their bikes or walking to work at Pixar a few blocks away (which has now doubled in size and really looks great).
The Check Cashing Spot has been shut down and replaced with a cool new condo development called Adeline Place. The Liquor Store/Crack Spot (San Pablo & Mac) is gone and soon to be a new pizza place! So many new businesses have come into the area and I feel a responsibility to help them survive! Well, in closing I just want to say that I look forward to writing more about this great area, mentioning any properties that I find interesting and maybe even meeting some more of my neighbors!
Happy New Year - New Decade!

Like many Agents across the country, I'm getting used to seeing Short-Sales in some the finest neighborhoods throughout California.
This one is a real jaw-dropper!
