As of August 1, 2008 carbon monoxide detectors are required in all Minnesota homes. They must conform to the latest U/L standards. There must be a carbon monoxide detector within 10 feet of each room used for sleeping purposes. This is an awesome benefit that came out of the FHA finance bill passed by congress and signed by the president.
