Open in Denver- Steak 'n Shake

Steak 'n ShakeSteak ‘n Shake has arrived on the Denver restaurant scene with gusto and news of many more locations planned for this year. The first location in Denver opened in November 2011 off County Line Road & Quebec, in the South Metro area.

Steak ‘n Shake opened their first location in 1934 and are prevalent in the Midwest and South. This opening created 120 job openings, and more to come, as five more restaurants will open in 2012. The 2nd restaurant to open will be at Hampden & Santa Fe. There are 4 options on the menu that are under $4.00!

The web site offers an e-Club and sells apparel and merchandise adorned with company logos. This is a popular spot, as this photo was taken at 2:30 in the afternoon, and there was a line at the drive through!

Customer Service is the KEY to Retaining Business

Customer Service is the KEY to Retaining Business

When you visit a retail location, whether it is a grocery/department store, restaurant, a Feeling like a Queendentist/doctor or a car dealership, when you walk away feeling the Queen of something.....It is a good feeling!

I purchased a Lexus almost two year ago from Kuni Lexus, and this past week I had some maintenance to get done on my car. While in a tire shop to get the tires rotated I found out the “lug nut lock tool” that was in my car, was not the one needed to remove my tires.

Bill OwensA call to my sales associate at Kuni Lexus - Bill Owens, not only did he remember me and asked how the real estate market was going, he continued to take information, insisted I did not need to make the 30 minute drive to the shop, as he would put this locking tool into the mail for me!

This is superior service in my eyes! Every time I call or visit this dealership they make you feel you are the QUEEN! On top of this great service I heard within the next year, they will be moving, and will be only a 15 minute drive! Spring is in the air - maybe it is time for a new car? A sun roof is nice this time of year!

Frozen Dead Guy Days - Still Time to Attend - Nederland, CO

Frozen Dead Guy Days - Still Time to Attend - Netherland, CO

Frozen Dead Guy Days

It all started in 1989 when Grampa Bredo died from a heart condition and his daughter and grandson believed in cryonics and hoped to start a facility on their own.

So, Grampa took up residency in a TUFF SHED in the hills of Nederland, Colorado. Grampa was packed in dry ice and was shipped to a cryonics facility in Oakland, CA where he was placed in liquid nitrogen for almost 4 years, then in 1993 was moved back to Colorado with his daughter and grandson. He remained in “cold storage” in a TUFF shed for years in a state of suspended animation awaiting a big thaw, one day hoping to bring him back to life.

Small problem, Nederland’s laws state is it illegal to store frozen remains (human or animal) in your home. Long story short, municipal code was passed regarding the “keeping of bodies”. Now once a month a team of volunteers deliver 1,600 pounds of dry ice to keep Grampa solid (so to speak).

Nederland is a mountain town that thrives on colorful, offbeat and weird ways to end long winter days.

Update - tents are closed due to high winds creating a safety issue.

Parade of Hearses is still going on - people lined up w/their coffee and cocoa.

Sunday March 4th events (some not to miss)
