No decision at Mondays's hearing on the Guemes Island Ferry Schedule ......
Guemes Island is a quaint little island with a tight knight community. But the proposed elimination of the Guemes Island Ferry runs after 6 PM weekdays has the island divided. Newer residents purchased their Guemes Island homes hoping the current schedule would be made permanent.
Long time residents want the island to stay quiet with only a few hundred full time residents. They also sight the burden on Skagit County tax payers.
I will keep you posted!

LA CONNER
The Town of La Conner provides moorage at Benton, Calhoun and Washington Street end floats. Visitor Moorage is available on a short-term basis to visiting boat owners and charter vessels. No commercial boat access is available. We do not reserve for moorage, however, larger vessels (over 45 feet) should call ahead to verify space availability at the Benton Street end float. Our rates are $.50 per foot per day for moorage inside or outside the float. Payments can be made in the envelopes and drop boxes provided next to the access ramps on the floats.

Every waterfront community had it's own personality. Fidalgo Island, (Anacortes) , Samish Island, and Whidbey Islands are an easy drive from Seattle. Other Islands such as Guemes Island have state ferry or county ferry service such as Guemes Island, scheduled air and float plane service, and/or can be accessed by water taxi. We can help you identify which San Juan Island or Mainland Waterfront Community best meets your criteria for a dream property. Or if you are thinking of selling your home, we would appreciate the chance to offer exceptional service and demonstrate my unique approach to marketing.

We all know that people are flocking to rural areas to escape traffic, crime and pollution. In Anacortes we have what baby boomers today are looking for.
This is reflected in our market stats, but to give you an idea of how quaint our town is, I thought I would let you know that this week Anacortes Amercian has an article on the front page of the paper about a major issue that was discussed at the City Council meeting ... people that drive to fast through our neighborhoods.
This is a serious issue as it can endanger children and pets...but don't you wish you lived in a beautiful quiet town where people driving too fast through 25 mph neighborhoods was front page news?
