I guess Governor Rendell threatneing to take $7 million of state assistance woke up people in charge of the SEPTA Union.
So SEPTA is back in business this morning and transit workers are back on the job. Governor Rendell announced the end of the strike that shut down Philadelphia's buses, subways and trolleys for almost a week. Rendell said that the system will be up and running in time for this morning's commute. The governor said SEPTA and the union have settled their differences over a pension fund audit and health care and dental benefits. The union's president says he thinks members will approve the contract.

A few days ago a family sued over a bathrobe fire death.
A family of an elderly woman who died after her chenille bathrobe caught on fire has filed a $30 million lawsuit against the retailer for wrongful death and product liability.
Blair recalled the products in April after it learned of three robes catching on fire. Six more reports of fire-related deaths linked to the robes have been made since then, prompting Blair to expand its recall this month to include chenille jackets and tops made by the same Pakistani manufacturer.

Hello Neighbor!
We would like to introduce ourselves. Our names are Heather and Jeff Rickert. We have personally invested in real estate since 2000 and, as realtors, we specialize in two distinct areas. One area of expertise is the Souderton and North Penn School Districts, including Harleysville, Skippack, Lederach and the Borough of Souderton. Our other area of specialty is the Poconos of Pennsylvania, where we help buyers and sellers of investment properties and vacation homes.
Our other area We have been residents of Arrowhead Lake (Monroe County, PA) since 2001. We are natives of the Souderton and North Penn School District since 1993. We have resided on Morris Road. Jeff has been and active memberof the Harleysville Community Fire Co. since 1995 and has been the Deputy Emergency Operations Coordinator forLower Salford Township since 2002 as well as Fire Marshall of Lower Salford Township since 2006. Heather keeps busy by raising our 3 adopted children. She also volunteers for the Hands Across the District at Oak Ridge Elementary School and Souderton Area High School.
2007 was our first year with Keller Williams. We received rookie of the year in our office.
2008 was a great year for us. Our 2008 awards we received were: 2nd in Sales Volume Closed Buyers Side, 3rd Listings Volume Closed Sellers Side, 1st Buyers Sales, 1st Listings Taken, 2nd Closed Units. In Addition Heather received Most Driven Award in our office of 72 agents. Internationally we received The International Bronze Award.

City, State, Date -To better serve the growing second-home and resort real estate sector, a new certification for REALTORS® called the Resort and Second-Home Property Specialist (RSPS) is now offered by the National Association of REALTORS®. This certification program was launched in January 2006.
According to an NAR survey, more than 140,000 REALTORS® currently work in resort area and second home markets.
"The RSPS certification program recognizes the vitality of the second home market," said Dennis Johnson, 2007 chair of the NAR Resort & Second-Home Committee. "Serving the resort and vacation real estate market has come of age at a time when the second home market has never been stronger and savvy buyers increasingly demand the expertise of a real estate professional with proven knowledge of resort and second-home market conditions."
The program consists of two core courses and two electives. REALTORS® or consumers interested in learning more about the program may log on to www.Realtor.org/Resort or contact NAR Resort Specialties at 800/874-6500, Ext. 8393.
An NAR study of second-home buyers showed substantial growth in the second-home market. The study indicated that investment property and vacation homes make up a significant portion of the overall housing market, accounting for more than one-third of residential transactions. Acquiring a second home has grown in popularity over the last 10 years and in particular since 2003. Sales of second homes increased 16 percent in 2004 from the year before. NAR also estimates in a study of second-home owners that the typical vacation-home owner is 59 years old, while the median age of the investment property owner is 55.

I could write a book about you and Jeff singing your praises!! I want to thank you for facilitating the sale of my home in Arrowhead Lakes in the Pocono Mountains. My situation was unique as you represented the buyer in the transaction and I was the seller! When you showed my home (the first time I met both of you), I immediately felt confident that you would match up the right buyer for the property. My initial impression was that you were down to earth, knowledgeable about the market, and had a sound understanding of the type of buyer who would purchase the home. To say you facilitated the sale with just those qualities would be an understatement! There were many obstacles that arose during the sale due to the agency I chose to list my home. Although it was not your responsibility to correct the mishaps that were occurring, you handled the sale of the home with complete integrity and professionalism! While keeping your buyers needs first, you corrected the problems that came up, even though it was not the responsibility of your agency. You were thorough and communicated effectively with both parties (the buyer and the selling agent). You are in a unique situation. Your office is located in Montgomery County but you specialize in the Pocono Mountains, which is where you have a second home.
