St. Meinrad is located at the intersection of Highway 545 and Highway 62.

Nestled in the northwest corner of the county, St. Meinard has a rich history. Nationally known for its Archabbey and Catholic-oriented publishing house, the town is predominantly German and Catholic.

By the early 1850s, plans were laid out of the Archabbey, whose monastery has the third largest population of monks in the United States. With 80 Benedictines living year round on the grounds, St. Meinrad is home to a community of artistic and religious men, as well as a theological school.
