On Sunday mornings our family likes to go for breakfast tacos at Whole Foods and then down to Zilker Park and a stroll around Town Lake. It's a great place to people, dog, bird, etc. The path is wheelchair friendly and you can go for a leisurely stroll, run, or bike. There is a great place to watch the dogs frolic and tussle off-leash as well. If you want to make a day of it, kayaks are available to rent. Competitive rowing teams practice on the lake and you can hear the coaches with bullhorns motivating their teams during certain times throughout the day.

Afterwords, we like to mellow out at Book People or shop for gear at REI, which are both just a within walking distance.
If you live in Austin and don't want to have to get out your car to go for a walk around the lake, nearby neighborhoods to consider, are the Zilker Neighborhood, Barton Hills, Downtown Condos, West Lynn, Enfield, Rollingwood, and Barton Springs.
