Update to my previous post......
The mayor of Mansfield answered calls for his resignation.
In a speech Thursday night, Barton Scott announced he will resign as mayor.
The recall petition was started after the mayor's sexual predator ordinance was defeated on a technicality.
May 2008, there will be an election to determine the next mayor. Until then, the Mayor Pro Tem Michael McSpadden is in charge.

MANSFIELD, TEXAS
A group of Mansfield residents presented the city council with a petition to recall the mayor, Barton Scott on Monday night. The group said Mayor Scott misses too many meetings and he's costing the city money. Residents said Scott was even late to the council meeting Monday night.
Scott has been tangling with political foes on the city council as he aims for much stricter sex offender controls -- including restrictions on where thay may live. One particular neighborhood petitioning is an older part of Mansfield with families with small children.
Opponents began circulating petitions Monday night just before a council vote went against Barton. The mayor claims his opponents are backed and bankrolled by land developers and apartment complex builders who stand to lose if sex offenders.
The facts are that the petition to recall Barton Scott is circulating because he refuses to demonstrate leadership skills needed to lead our city. The corruption in Mansfield's political process is Barton Scott and the illusions he creates to conceal his lack of experience. Scott started with the best of intentions and we had a lot of hope for him. Unfortunately, his personal agenda turned into a personal vendetta. The truth is that the residents of Mansfield are tired of all the fighting at City Hall.
HERE ARE THE ISSUES:
Honesty and Integrity
Understanding Politics and Working with Others
Sex Offender Legislation

Do you believe there are UFOs out there? A lot of people in Stephenville, Tx apparently do.
Stephenville, Texas has been taken over by UFO trackers and Extra Terrestrial seekers after several residents have reported seeing things in the sky that appear to be otherworldly.
Several dozen people, including a pilot, county constable and business owners, insist they have seen a large silent object with bright lights flying low and fast. Some reported seeing fighter jets chasing it. The military claims they have no record of any activity that night, so they deny chasing down any craft, or even taking a look at any strange objects or lights in the sky. Officials at the region's two Air Force bases - Dyess in Abilene and Sheppard in Wichita Falls - also said none of their aircraft were in the area last week.
As usual, government officials are trying to dismiss the witnesses saying that their eyes were playing tricks on them and a plane probably fooled all of them. Locals swear that it was larger, quieter, faster and lower to the ground than an airplane. They also said the object's lights changed configuration, unlike those of a plane. People in several towns who reported seeing it over several weeks have offered similar descriptions of the object.
The Larry King Live sent a crew down to Stephenville to investigate. The show aired 18th Jan 2008 on CNN, seems like Larry himself might be a believer, also the huge media interest worldwide in this now indicates a massive shift amoung the public about accepting the reality of ufos.
Fourteen percent of Americans polled last year by The Associated Press and Ipsos say they have seen a UFO.
So, what do ya'll think? (please go easy on the Texas jokes!)

FORT WORTH, TEXAS
Saggy pants has become a big issue nationwide. Some are offended by them. Some have tried to outlaw them. Some business establishments don't permit them.
The city of Fort Worth in may now join Dallas' campaign in telling people to "Pull 'Em Up". The city council will vote Tuesday on a resolution supporting Dallas' fight to send a message about sagging pants.
An ordinance outlawing saggy pants was originally considered but was dropped in favor of billboards promoting anti-sagging messages.
City Councilman Frank Moss fears that too many young people are being labeled because of how they dress and it affects them being able to get jobs in the community.
"There's stereotyping that all the kids who walk around with their pants hanging down are kids that are unruly, bad kids, and they're involved in crime and other kinds of things," he said. "Many of these kids are extremely good kids; they just think they're making a fashion statement."
It is said that sagging pants got their start in prison because inmates were not allowed to wear belts and their pants are often one-size-fits-all. The "shuffle" step you also see kids doing emulates the same action of a prisoner who is wearing leg shackles. Since young kids are easily impressioned...they seemed to pick this up from their older uncles, cousins and friends who have done time in prison.
There are now billboards in Dallas with three different slogans:
Don't Be Lame, Elevate Your Game
That's Not Hip-Hop, That's Flip Flop
Personally, I hope the trend ends soon. If I want to see your underwear, I'll ask. Otherwise, just assume I'd rather see you with your pants on.
