Despite the national and local news media talk about the status of the Real Estate industry, things are
looking up in the Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Portmouth, Norfolk Area of Virginia.
In the year 2007, the price of Homes sold in Virginia Beach increased from 2006 by almost 6%. This near 6%
increase in Virginia Beach is more reflective of the real estate market in the area (prior to the Real Estate Boom
between 2002-2005) ie an increase in value yearly of 4%-7+%, consistently over time. The Virginia Beach
Area Real Estate market has always been a very stable market with no real downturns and always a positive
increase in Home Values! Residents of the Virginia Beach and surrounding area can go into this New Year of
2008 with a positive approach to our Virginia Beach Area real estate market!
(We did end the year 2007 with a large inventory of homes for sale--a standard condition of a home buyers
market and homes are staying on the market longer then the "Feeding Frenzy" years of 2002-2005. The overall
increase of value in the other cities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Porsmouth, Suffolk and all surrounding areas of
Va. was almost 3% from 2006 to 2007. Not great, but far from a disaster.)

Whatever you want to call this area, it sure is a really nice place to live and work...and retire. It has it all---the Beaches, Cultural Events, Sports, Eclectic Restaurants, Historical areas, traditional family neighborhoods, offbeat areas, and of course, the wonderfully, diverse, friendly, pleasant people of this area. Because of the influence of the many Military Bases in the area and tourism, our economy stays on an even keel much more then most parts of the country.

Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Suffolk have a large land mass, with room to grow; especially Suffolk. #1) Virginia Beach--433,033; #2) Norfolk---235,987; #3) Chesapeake---216,568; #8) Portsmouth...98,543; #10) Suffolk 81,209.

One of the many factors in being involved in the Real Estate Business as a full time professional REALTOR is finding individuals that are looking to purchase Real Estate in your geographical area of expertise. Many of them found me as a result of my advertising on these search engines via of PPC (pay per click).
As we all know, the only thing for sure is change, and on the internet, change happens quickly. PPC results dropped off dramatically in the last several months. So, what to do? Adjust and adapt---thats the answer.
