Best REALTOR Cell Phone? Best Carrier for Kauai?

As a professional REALTOR, I know the importance of the right technology tools for our trade, but I am still carrying around the Treo 650. I am tired of my old Palm Treo and want a new phone. Any advice?

My Palm Treo has served me well. It is easy to use, but it is now outdated and too big and heavy compared to the new phones. Right now, the iphone is the way to go for internet, and Blackberry phones are so popular, but there is a new Palm PRE coming out that I think is the one, and it will have a pull out qwerty keyboard for easier email typing. The video that shows it's pre announcement is on the web at http://www.palm.com/us/products/phones/pre/ces-video.html. You can sign up on the Palm website to be emailed when the phone releases, so I did this. The downside for me is that Sprint may be the exclusive first carrier of this, and I heard that Sprint has the worst reception in my area of Kauai. I currently use AT&T and previously was with Verizon Wireless. I do notice that I get some dropped calls, but it has been better at the "Tunnel of Trees" lately.

For Kauai and Hawaii islands, our MLS service is not set up for phones, so it only works on the Apple I-Phone for now. I went to the local AT&T Wireless store, and liked the phone and applications, but had trouble getting used to the touchpad working with my fingertip, and there being no keyboard. So for now, I will wait.

Any comments on what phone you use, and if you like it for web, e-mail, contact and calendar management, as well as for use as a phone - your input is welcome here.

Aloha,

Waiting on the new Palm Pre...

Has anyone reading this seen the new Palm Pre phone in person? Does anyone have the inside scoop on when it will be released to the public? I actually watched the video on the Palm website, http://www.palm.com/us/products/phones/pre/ces-video.html. It looks interesting, and I hope this phone works great and is as awesome as it looks. I like that it works more like a really tiny computer, as you can have multiple applications open at once-like "windows" but palm calls them "cards" I think. I currently use a Palm Treo, which as technology moves ahead, seems like an old dinosaur now.
