BRRRR- it has been cool and windy this week. The full time residents are bundled up in jeans, hoodies, and scarves; while visitors from cooler climates are wearing shorts, and sundresses, and looking at us bundled up folks like we are crazy!

I saw an article in yesterday's Garden Island Newspaper that some tourists were having trouble finding rental cars. They recommending reserving a car in advance of your vacation. One industrious duo from England rented a pickup truck from U-Haul.

Which brings me to real estate. Realtors who had been complaining about lack of buyers have experienced a flurry of activity in the last three weeks. A couple of nights the past week, I did not even find time to eat dinner until 9:00 pm. Luckily, my husband is very supportive of my career. I closed a sale this week, opened a couple of new escrows this month, and have one pending offer on a listing, and another offer on the way. So far this year, I am further establishing myself as a listing agent who can get the job done. In fact my first 4-5 sales this year will be for the seller side of the transaction. Time to go out and get some new listings!

The 2008 Kauai Board of REALTORS (KBR) Charity Golf Tournament was held at the Kauai Lagoons golf course and I was a volunteer for this event. The 2007 annual KBR golf tournament was held at the Puakea golf course and I played in that one with three other Makai Properties REALTORS. Puakea has some long fairways, especially compared to my favorite 9-hole course, Kukiu'olono in Kalaheo. I won a gift certificate to Joe's on the Green at the Kiahuna Golf Course, but since my win was for "high score" this is why I volunteered and did not play in the 2008 tournament. I love working too much to find time to practice my golf game.

Will Grove Farm continue with their plans for reconfiguring the Puakea Golf Course, with a new golf course layout, restaurant, and meeting rooms?
