A quick Explanation- These pictures were taken on a trip to Riverbanks Zoo and Botanical Gardens here in Columbia, SC. It's one of Columbia's premiere attractions, and is located just off of I-26 making it easy to reach from all parts of town and to those visiting from out of town.

A quick explanation - This is a picture of the Hampton-Preston Mansionat 1615 Blanding Street in downtown Columbia, SC. It's one of the many historic homes that we are lucky enough to have right here in our own backyard. It's located directly across the street from the Robert Mills House and now serves as a house museum.

Fairfield County Museum in Winnsboro, SC

Located about eight miles off of I-77, between Columbia, SC and Rockhill, you'll find a small town with a quaint main street known as Winnsboro, SC. Winnsboro has a long history and maintains it's small town charm after all this time. Right there on Main Street, known as Congress Street, is the Fairfield County Museum.

The Fairfield County Museum, much like the rest of town, is not a huge place. However, it is well worth a walk through to see what it has to offer. The main focal point is the history of the county in which it resides. With lots of artifacts like pottery and arrow heads that have been found throughout Fairfield, the museum offers an excellent opportunity to see living history right before your eyes. Of course, they also have special exhibits from time to time, like the current exhibit that show cases William Belk, a Winnsboro native and Iranian Hostage.

So if you find yourself in the vicinity of Winnsboro, SC and you'd like to see a bit of the town's history, then you should stop by the museum and take a look. Admission is free, so it doesn't cost anything to check it out and see what you think. As always museums can be a fun learning experience for the whole family and this one has the added bonus of being priced right.

There are very few people I know these days that do not watch some form of reality T.V. I myself choose to shy away from them for the simple fact that they are just not my thing. Out of all the people I do know who watch the shows religiously, many of them watch various shows on HGTV. House Hunters and various other shows about flipping homes, buying or selling homes, and anything else that you can imagine.

Well, most of them talk to me about real estate, after all the know I'm a Realtor, and they feel that they now have a grasp on how things work because they watch the shows. WRONG! Reality T.V. like any other form of television is purely for entertainment value. It does not suddenly give you the ability to make millions in the market, nor does it truly make in any more informed as to how the process works out here in the real world. Things are a little different when you remove the script and make it real life.

The fact is that there is nothing arbitrary about finding an investment property, fixing up an old home, selling a home, or buying your new home. There is a lot of work that goes into each and every detail of each and every situation. And all those situations are completely unique and individual. There's more to it than taking a quick peek at 3 homes for sale, picking the one you want, and everyone leaves happy in thirty minutes.

There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes that can make or break any and every deal. All that work just doesn't make for quality entertainment and the show would last forever if you were to truly see it all from start to finish.

That's not to say that you can't pick up a tip or two in the process of watching, but no matter how many hours you long in front of a T.V., it won't make you a professional in this field. So, you are much better off finding one that can help out. There isn't a lot of reality in Reality T.V. It's just a show.
