I was talking the other day to a friend who lives in England. He volunteered that his family wouldn't be watching the Royal Wedding as they were going to be out of town.

He is an amateur photographer in his spare time, takes great images and shares them with me.

This is the original clock in Exeter Cathedral that the nursery rhyme was written about.

There is an old door to the room (before it was electrified) that houses the clock. Back then they used animal fat to grease the clockworks and that attracted mice. They had a cat on the premise that got paid 1 penny in food when on duty to catch mice. He had his own entrance at the bottom of the door.

I wonder if my cat will get a job this summer..........

Lakeside California's best lake is Lindo Lake

Lakeside, California's best lake is Lindo Lake, and is one block from my office, Main Street Realty & Loan.

One of the best things about going to work is the view I get to see every morning. We have one of the best San Diego County Parks only one block away.

Lindo Lake was dedicated as a public park in 1886

The park sits back one block from the main street (which happens to be named Maine Ave) in Lakeside, California. It's the recreational center of our community. It is a wonderful park with a walking trail all the way around the lake. It has a softball field, horseshoe pits, fishing, tennis courts, library and lots of birds. The bird watching alone is entertainment. I personally have never seen such a large bird nest's as the one I saw at the lake. (I think it was a blue heron)

It's a great place to picnic, sit, walk, feed the birds, take the kids, or attend a Farmers Market.

They have a facility that you can rent for meetings, parties and it seems like a wonderful site to have a wedding. It would provide a very dramatic background with El Capitan Mountain looming beyond.

Directly across the street from the lake there are multiple Lakeside Condo Complexes to choose from.

When you are ready to buy, we are your local Lakeside Realtor.

Whatever is going on in your life, 10 minutes at this lake will feel like a mini vacation.

And it's one block from my office.......

Lakeside, CA-Farmers Market

One of my favorite things to do in our town of Lakeside is go to the local Farmers Market.

Fortunately for me one is located right down the street from our real estate office. We have a county park almost smack dab in the middle of Lakeside and that is where they hold the event. Lindo Lake County Park. Located at the corner of Lakeshore and Vine streets.( Check out your location of your local market here http://sdfarmbureau.org/index.php). Farmers' Markets provide venues for farmers to sell directly to consumers and supports small farming operations. It is sponsored locally here by the Farm Bureau of San Diego County. Although the hours of operation vary there are usually one or two different farmers markets that you can choose from which would work for your schedule. There is usually a Farmers Market located near you and open at a time convenient for you. And there is one going on every single day of the week. In our town of Lakeside we have one every Thursday. The best thing about the markets: - the food is fresher -it supports local farmers -local farmers spend money in your community which helps everyone -buying local saves energy. The food products do not have to travel far, which reduces energy consumption. -you sometimes find unique foods, plants or other items that you would normally not see in local stores. It is interesting to visit one or two different markets and check out what each sells. Some venues are larger than others but the concept is always the same. So come on out and enjoy some time at your local Farmers Market.
