It's bad enough when a family is forced to leave their home due to foreclosure. Oftentimes they either move in with family or rent a house or an apartment, but their pets are not always welcome. Fortunetly Porter County Animal Shelter is now a no kill facility making it possible for these displaced pets to have a safe home until they are adopted out.

The owners of Century 21 Pace have been volunteering time and money for quite some time at local shelters and have become aware that there is an increased need for funds for these no-kill shelters. Beginning in May a number of Century 21 Pace Realtors will be teaming up to hold fundraising events for some of these shelters. No-kill policy is a requirement to receive benefits from these fundraisers.

Participating Realtors from the Century 21 Pace Estates office in Valparaiso will be holding their first fundraising event , a "YAPPY HOUR" along with Zao Island on May 30th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Pet owners along with their well behaved pets, as well as non pet owners are invited to share an evening of fun, food, contests, prizes and socializing with fellow pet owners. Zao Island will be donating a percentage of the proceeds from this event to the Porter County Animal Shelter and the Moraine Wildlife Rescue Facility.
