The Bath ME residential real estate market saw 8 transactions take place in June 2009. In June 2008, 8 transactons also occured. Median priced dipped a bit however, about 12% from 149K to 131K. This mid coastal maine housing market continue to see healthy activity given the overall economic conditions and overall the Bath market had a solid spring.

Falmouth Maine June 2009 Housing Statistics

In the Falmouth Maine real estate markets in the month of June 24 homes sold a median price of 358K after sitting on the market for 44 days. This compares with 14 homes selling in June 2008 at a median price of 292K after sitting on the market for 145 days. Current inventory rest at 171 homes for sale in Falmouth Maine. Overall the real estate markets for Falmouth finished with strong numbers. Month over month, transaction volume has been up 13%, 89% and 41%.

June Housing stats for Portland Maine

The for the month ending June 30th, 2009, the Portland ME real estate market posted once again solid home sale figures. A total of 64 homes sold in Portland compared with 89 a year prior. A 27% volume drop. For the last 5 months, volume drops year over year have been anywhere from 4% to this months high of 27% but two other months saw 25% and 26% drops, thus the market seems fairly stable all things considered. On a month over month basis, Portland Maine Home sales were up 20%. Median prices for June 2009 clocked in at 205K, compared with 215K a year prior.

Maine Forclosures Law Change

Effective as of June 15th, the state of Maine has changed the Maine Foreclosure rules and regulations a bit. Here is a link to FAQ's on the State of Maine website, http://www.maine.gov/pfr/consumercredit/pre-foreclosure_faq.html


From what I can gather though it extends the "Notice of Right to Cure Default" time frame from 30 days to 35 days and simply requires the lenders to be more clear on the situation, how much the borrower owes and what ones options are going forward.

Woolwich Maine May 2009 Real Estate report

For the month ending May 2009 the Woolwich Maine real estate markets saw no transactions transpire. In 2008, only one home sold in the same month. The mid coastal Maine housing markets continue to remain sluggish and extremely slow compared with the more southern regions surround the greater Portland housing markets.
