Here is my weekly list of the top 10 things to do this weekend in Hampton Roads. I will definitely be doing number 1.

  1. Go see Due Date. You better check yourself before you wreck yourself.
  2. Barktoberfest at Ballentine Bark Park on Saturday.
  3. Salute to Veterans Concert at Ferguson Center for the Arts.
  4. ODU vs. Elizabeth City State at the Ted on Saturday at 7.
  5. Take part in a Winter Wildlife Watch at False Cape Sate Park on Sunday from 1-3.
  6. Go see Amy Grant at the Ferguson Center for the Arts on Sunday.
  7. Fantasia performs Friday night at Chrysler Hall.
  8. If you like Classical music go see Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony Saturday at Chrysler Hall.
  9. STR8UP Motorcycle Club Walk / Run for Education, Saturday at Mt. Trashmore.
  10. Learn to write an effective Business Plan Saturday at the Main St. Library in Newport News from 2-5.

Top 10 things to do in Hampton Roads this weekend.

The fall weather should be back in the area in a few hours so it will feel like Halloween again. There are plenty of fall activities to do this weekend, so get out and have some fun!

  1. Take your kids Trick or Treating on Sunday.
  2. This is your last chance to go to the Haunted Halloween Fest at Hunt Club.
  3. Check out the String Cheese Incident at the Hampton Coliseum Friday and Saturday.
  4. Last weekend for Homearama at East Beach in Norfolk.
  5. Go to the Fall Puck Crawl on Friday night and watch the Admirals play.
  6. Haunted Classics with the Virginia Symphony Saturday in Norfolk and Sunday in Virginia Beach.
  7. Get scared at the Olde Towne Ghost Walk in Old Towne Portsmouth on Friday.
  8. Friday Night Hoedown at the Virginia Beach Farmers Market.
  9. Taste some wine at the Chesapeake Wine Festival at Chesapeake City Park on Saturday.
  10. Go to the Oyster Roast at the Tidewater Boat Club to benefit CHKD.

VA Loan Compromise Sale

The VA Loan Compromise Sale is designed for home sellers who have negative equity in their home and need to sell. The compromise sale is a option to consider if you do not qualify for HAP. There are many reasons a person would need to sell. A few reasons are that the active duty service member has received PCS orders and has to relocate, a decrease in income or death of a principal wage earner. In order to be considered for a compromise sale, several factors must be considered:

  • The property must be sold for fair market value.
  • The closing costs must be reasonable and customary.
  • The compromise sale must be less costly for the Government than foreclosure.
  • There must be a financial hardship on the part of the seller.
  • On loans that originated on or before December 31, 1989, the seller must be willing to sign a promissory note.
  • There must be no second liens or other liens (unless the amount is insignificant). In situations whereby there are second liens or other liens, the seller can request that thelienholder consider releasing the lien and converting the loan to a personal loan.
  • The seller must first obtain a sales contract in order to be considered for the program.
  • To protect the seller’s interest, the seller should make the sales contract contingent and/or subject to the approval of a VA compromise sale.

Top 10 things to do in Hampton Roads this weekend.

It's Thursday again. Time really flies when we are having fun. It is time for my Top 10 things to do this weekend in Hampton Roads.

  1. In my opinion the best thing to do is to go to Hunt Club and take part in their fall activities. The Hayride is the best!
  2. Go to "Survive Norfolk - A Zombie Race-Chase" in Ghent Friday night.
  3. Attend the Fall Festival on Saturday from 11-2 at Mt. Trashmore.
  4. Take your dog to the Norfolk SPCA Dog Walk on Saturday from 10-2 in Stockley Gardens.
  5. Go eat some shrimp at the Norfolk Elks Lodge annual Shrimp Fest.
  6. Another dog event - Check out Bark in the Park Sunday at Chesapeake City Park from 12-5.
  7. Go to Homearama in East Beach in Norfolk.
  8. Suffolk Small Business Expo on Sunday from 11-6 at the Hilton Garden Inn.
  9. Go to a High School football game. There are not to many games remaining.
  10. Thinking of adoption? Go to this seminar at the Kempsville Library, Saturday from 10:30-12.

The weather is supposed to be great so you can also get some fall yard work done. Have a great weekend!
