Question ? Who is eligible to purchase a Good Neighbor Pass ?
Answer : Anyone residing in the City of Williamsburg, James City County and the Bruton District of York County ( Upper York County) will qualify to purchase Good Neighbor Passes. Good Neighbor Passes may be purchased at the Colonial Williamburg Visitor Center or Lumber House Ticket Office located on Duke of Gloucester ( DOG) Street. You will need your valid Virginia driver's license with a Williamsburg address, along with a current month's utility bill (gas, phone, cable, etc.) as proof of residency. Please provide birth certificate or school reports/assignment letters for children. Each member of the family, from the age of 6 and up, must be present to receive a Good Neighbor Card. Cards are just $10 per adult and children up to the age of 17 are free. Since its creation, The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation has encouraged our neighbors in the Williamsburg Area to enjoy the nation's oldest and largest outdoor living history museum and to serve as ambassadors for Colonial Williamsburg's programs and businesses. Although rained out this past year this has always been a fun event to take our children to. You can't beat the price, and free parking/ shuttle bus to boot. It's takes an amazing amount of volunteer effort to produce. If you are interested next year they are always looking for volunteers to help .

Journey through the Haunted Forest

If you dare, venture out after dark to experience a walk through the Haunted Forest (One of James City Counties signature family events.) for the fun, for the fright, for the things that go bump in the night - there are lots of horrific sights and sounds in the woods! Children 6 and younger, along with their parents, will especially enjoy Goblinville with its moonwalks, playground equipment and pumpkin patch hayride which travels through a maze of pumpkin faces and Nursery Rhyme Characters! Goblinville is also home to Frankenstein's Birthday Party which features a variety of hands-on arts and crafts activities and games, as well as the Fall Festive Family Area where the scarecrow stuffing class takes place at 6:30pm ($17/scarecrow).
Also look for the return of the Costume Contest! Pumpkin Bowling, arts and crafts, games and ghouls together create a night of frightful family fun! Teens, put your dancin' shoes on for Dracula's Dance Party featuring a DJ, dance floor, variety of hand-on activities, a gross guess, games and more!
After being watched and chased by unknown creatures in the Haunted Forest, you'll be hungry so visit the concessions and munch on something to eat. Better to munch than be munched! Don't forget your camera!

The Peninsula Housing and Builders Association (PHBA) has selected Founders Pointe in Isle of Wight, VA to host their 26th Annual Parade of Homes event in the spring of 2009. This event will feature fully-funished showcase homes, from a variety of custom builders, on tour for a two-week period of time. THe Ships Landing waterfront cul-de-sac, one of the premier locations within the community,will be the site of the event. Some of the homesites offer views of Batten Bay, the James River and the bay of Hampton Roads." The developer, East West Realty is no stranger to hosting events of this magnititude. Gatling Pointe, also in Isle of Wight County, was the site of the 1993 Parade of Homes. Breaking all attendance records, the show earned a Gold Award from National Association of Homebuilders as the Best Parade of Homes in America for that year. The Riverfront community in Suffolk also broke attendance records when it hosted the 2001 Homerama for the Tidewater Builders Association. Although still in the early planning stages, seven custom homebuilders have already committed to creating a showcase home for the event. These builders include: Area Builders of Tidewater, Birdsong Builders, Emerson Builders, Newhall Construction, Norman Miller Custom Builders, Hohmann Builders, and Sasser Construction.
