October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). Louisiana Job Fairs 2009 is just one of several events scheduled to celebrate the abilities of citizens with disabilities.
About the Louisiana Job Fairs 2009
Louisiana Job Fairs 2009 are designed to help bridge the needs of the business community with the employment needs of citizens with disabilities who are job-ready and looking for work.
LRS is blending resources with multiple agencies to host the statewide job fairs, which are FREE to both employers and job seekers. Citizens with disabilities are encouraged to utilize this opportunity to join Louisiana's workforce. Employers looking to create a diverse workforce are encouraged to register.
The fairs will include booths sponsored by community partners that provide resources and services to individuals with disabilities. This year, information sessions and seminars will include Social Security counseling from the Louisiana Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (La-WIPA) Coalition.

Sunset Symphony on the Lake- Grab your crew, pack a picnic and blanket and enjoy the event!
Due to the possibility of bad weather on Saturday, September 26th, the Northshore Community Foundation and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra have decided to hold the free concert on Sunday, September 27th at 5:00p.m.
"The Northshore Community Foundation is throwing a lakefront celebration with a performance by the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra at 5:00p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2009 (with a rain date of Sunday, September 27, 2009.) In the Foundation's continued efforts to build a better place, we invite all residentsto join us for the "Sunset Symphony on the Lake", a free concert on Lake Pontchartrain in Old Mandeville. The stage will be located on the Lakefront at Coffee Street in Mandeville. Residents are asked to pack their own food, beverages, blankets and chairs.
