Lehi my home town borders another great small town called American Fork.  American Fork Utah is a great little town, very friendly to families and a great place to live.  There are lots of homes for sale in American Fork, to see a list of ALL homes on the MLS click here. 

American Fork, in northern Utah County, is located 15 miles northwest of Provo and 30 miles south of Salt Lake City. It is bordered by Utah Lake on the south and by the Wasatch Mountains to the east. Adjacent to it lies the communities of Highland, Cedar Hills and Pleasant Grove to the east, Lehi to the west and Highland and Alpine to the north. American Fork’s unique old world charm, with a mixture of modern development, is a great place to locate a business or raise a family. Discovered by fur trappers and settled by Mormon pioneers, this historic town has become Utah’s fifteenth largest city. Conveniently situated just off Interstate 15 between Provo and Salt Lake City, it is an ideal location for commuters, families, and businesses.

A few days ago there was a very interesting news report by KUTV2 NEWS of Utah on first time home buyers, foreclosed homes and vandalism. It is a very interesting news report. You can read it or you can watch the news clip. For all you buyers agent, if you are buying a vacant home it is a good idea to do a quick walk through the same day you are going to settlement. If you don't, your clients may not be buying what they think they are buying. Give me your thought, let me know what you think of this news report.

Owning my own business in real estate is the best thing that could have happened to me.  I love the fact that I can meet new people and help them out with their real estate needs.  I am a season ticket holder for our State soccer team Real Salt Lake.

Once a month I promote my business by giving away two FREE tickets to anyone that joins my FAN PAGE and posts something about my business on their Facebook status.  It has worked out pretty good so far and I think people enjoy being able to participate.  Yesterday I gave away two tickets and announced the winner on YouTube.  It was fun.  What do you do to promote your business?  I would like to hear about your ideas.

I live in a small town in Utah called Lehi. Been here for a few years and really enjoy the community and they friendly people that live here. Like all small towns in between two larger cities, we are growing very fast. It used to be that to go to Wal-Mart or McDonalds you had to go to a neighbor city, now we have every store you can think of in our little town.

Now that the $8000 federal tax credit is gone, are you seeing a decline in your business? I can only speak for myself, I have seen a steady increase of calls from people wanting to know more about short sales and foreclosures. My take is that this year about 50% of my business is going to come in the form of short sale listings.

With more and more ARM loans adjusting this year many people are going to find themselves not being able to make their house payments and therefore having to short sale their homes. I think its a great time to get your CDPE if you have not done so already. Let me know what you think, and if you agree with my opinion.
