Naperville has received national recognition as a terrific place to live and raise a family. According to 2006 Money magazine, Naperville was named the second best place in the entire nation to live. With wonderful amenities including award winning schools, a charming and vibrant downtown, parks and recreation areas and easy access to Chicago via highways and commuter train, Naperville has what many families desire.
With approximately 143,000 residents, Naperville is the fourth largest city in Illinois – behind neighboring Aurora, Rockford and Chicago. Naperville continues to maintain the feel of a small town despite its size.
Real Estate in Naperville
Housing values in Naperville continue to rise despite the media onslaught. According to the Multiple Listing Service of Northern Illinois, the median sale price of single family homes in December 2006 was $467,700 and in December 2007 the median prices dropped only slightly to $435,000. However, the number of single family homes sold was a different story. In December 2006 90 single family homes were sold in Naperville, where only 71 homes were sold in December 2007, a decrease in sales of over -21% in one year.
Interest rates are remaining near all time lows and higher than normal residual inventory, buyers are getting the message that the time to buy is now.

Aurora really is a terrific city to live in, and may be one of the most diverse cities in the area – economically and socially. The home prices in Aurora range from under $100-thousand to over $1 million and can be purchased in new master planned communities and in historic communities alike.
With approximately 160,000 residents, Aurora is the second largest city in Illinois and is somehow able to maintain the feel of a town only a fraction its population.
